China is delicious.

I’ve been absent from the blogging world for a few weeks, but now that my life has (somewhat) settled down I’m ready to dive back in. I’ve decided the best way to start is by giving you a taste of my eating adventures during my spring break trip to China! I went with my boyfriend and his family (parents, two brothers and two sisters-in-law). It completely lived up to its once-in-a-lifetime expectations and was, as the title of this post demonstrates, absolutely delicious!

Oh dumplings. I could eat you all day long. Doughy outside, delicious and decadent inside – need I say more? These dumplings are from a very famous restaurant in the Chinese city of Xi’an called De Fa Chang. Our group was served 18 different types of dumplings. Some of them took on some familiar fun shapes:

You can tell that whoever creates these is very talented.

Last but certainly not least, a picture of Bobby (my boyfriend) and I with a super-sized version – I don’t think he was quite ready yet when the picture was taken, haha:

Believe it or not, this meal had one of the lowest numbers of courses for the whole trip. Our host wanted to make sure our bellies were always full of Chinese-style goodness – the record, I believe, was 24 courses! Since there were some very desirable and some very undesirable choices (see below), I was able to pick and choose and felt perfectly content at each meal.

There was plenty more to the trip besides food, but since I want the primary focus of my blog to be about my fitness and eating style along with any particularly interesting and creative foods and meals, I’ll keep it simple for now. But before I wrap it up, I’d like to share one more “course” that I did NOT indulge in:

I don’t think there is anything left to say about this one.

  1. Those are the most amazing things! I’m jealous! I’m going to add you to my blog roll, if that is alright.
