That’s a wrap.

The storm is coming. I can feel it. 😕

Other than my anxiety for the storm, it’s been a pretty productive day! I got some reading done before I went to grab lunch with my roommate. Then we went to work for the graduate school newscast. For lunch, we decided to switch it up a bit and go to Pita Pete’s, a reasonably healthy pita restaurant in town. Here’s a quote from their site:

“At Pita Pete’s, your pita is made at the Al Khyam Bakery of Chicago and there is no fat, preservatives or texturizers added. Our pita bread is pure, only water, flour, yeast and a little salt is used in its production. Our hummus is made on site, using an old Lebonese recipe. It’s smooth and slightly lemon flavor bring out the great taste of fresh raw vegetables.”

The pita’s are healthy and HUGE! I felt like I had a football in my stomach!

It’s tightly wrapped in this picture, but it was chock full of fresh veggies – I got mine with romaine lettuce, tomato, green peppers, jalapenos, black olives, black beans and corn. I also had chicken in there somewhere! I had some honey mustard sauce on the side for dipping.

WORKOUT + SNACK

After working on the grad show, the roomie and I went to the gym for a workout. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and then came home and did some lunges. Before the gym I had 1/2 a Clif ZBar, and after the gym I refueled with a Very Berry smoothie – oh how I love this combination 🙂

DINNER

And that’s a wrap – another one, that is. I had my second one for the day for dinner! It was my BBQ Chik’n Cheesy wrap – Quorn cutlet, garlic and herb wrap with barbecue sauce, spinach and cheddar cheese.

Before being wrapped up:

And after:

With my wrap I also had a rice cake with Maranatha PB + Dark Chocolate DreamsYUM!

I’m off to do some more work and later, watch some television shows that the roomie and I taped. It promises to be an exciting night indoors – AWAY from the storm! Hope you’re all enjoying your Fridays as well!

Sweet dreams 🙂

  1. The storm already hit here – HARD. Hope it’s less frightening for you, when it hits!

Wow, that pita looks like it’s stuffed with so much goodness!! Yum!! And I love the Very Berry smoothie as well :0)

    Enjoy your Friday!

  2. Jenn! Both your wraps look soo yummy! Send some this way! haha What kind of BBQ sauce do you use? I’m always cautious because it seems like most are loaded with sugar. I guess I could make my own, but I’m lazzzzy! Have an awesome weekend!

  3. Jill – I thought it was funny 😉

Em – BBQ sauce is definitely loaded with sugar. I just try to use less than the serving size. I use one called Sweet Baby Ray’s that has 8 grams per tablespoon. I’m going to have to look into making my own now that you mention it! 🙂
