Got some time on my side.

Good morning everyone! Thank you so much for all your kind comments yesterday 🙂 I finished editing my paper late last night and slept in this morning, so I’m feeling much less stressed and much more refreshed to say the least! I’ve got some time on my side this morning, so I thought I would post my dependably delicious breakfast. I also want to share something with you that I hope will foster discussion.

BREAKFAST

This morning I woke up shivering, and that can only mean one thing – OATMEAL for breakfast!

It’s been a while – those ‘Pump’ It Up muffins were great, but oatmeal is ‘SUPER’ – ha, get it? This morning I made whipped banana oats with flax, wheat germ, maple syrup and Bear Naked High Sierra trail mix. I enjoyed each bite with a spoonful of Maranatha PB.

On the side was my friend Mug 😉 and the necessary Coffee Cocoa.

I love getting back into the routine. My breakfasts have been much too hurried to enjoy them this week. It makes such a difference to be able to sit down, enjoy each bite…and then be able to blog about it!

THOUGHTS?

I wanted to share this article that I found on MSNBC.com this morning. It’s from a few weeks ago but I’m just getting around to reading it! It’s about how women are starting to get more and more creative (for lack of a better word) with plastic surgery. The article talks about women who go in and ask the doctor to remove their belly button or shorten their toes!! I’m all for freedom of choice – if someone wants to get plastic surgery, that’s their decision. But I don’t know…something about removing your belly button, the thing that once made it possible for you to grow, seems extreme. Any thoughts from you, dear reader? Either way, I just thought it was an interesting article and wanted to pass it along in case anyone missed it.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone – the weekend is in sight!!

  1. Getting a paper done + sleeping in + “super” oatmeal breakfast (yes, I get it, haha – cute) = great Thursday for you!! :0)

That article is interesting, yes; but those practices are sickening, in my opinion.

  2. Wow – I am not a proponent of plastic surgery whatsoever… and do people realize that there is a reason why they were made they way they were made (aka belly button, toe length)… WACKY… and yes, sickening (I stole VeggieGirl’s word but it was fitting!)…

    Breakfast looks delish!!

  3. wtf!?!?! shortening their toes?? uh-that’s a little extreme.

those melting chocolate chips look DIVINE!

  4. Wow… removing belly buttons and shortening toes? It’s scary the extremes people are willing to go to to alter their bodies these days… *shudder*
