Nice to meet you, your highness.

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to meet royalty. I never really imagined I would have the chance to do so – that is, until about a week ago. My professor approached me with some exciting news: I, along with other members of various campus media outlets, would be meeting Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser Al-Missned – aka the queen of Qatar! Wow, she is impressive. Not only is she gorgeous, but she also is very knowledgeable about journalism, communications and world issues. My first encounter with royalty was very exciting šŸ™‚

Now, on to the food of the day šŸ™‚ For breakfast this morning, I had two Kashi blueberry waffles with bananas, Cinnamon Raisin Swirl peanut butter and Smucker’s strawberry jam.

Mmm…look at that strawberry goodness!

I’d also like to point out the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl peanut butter, as I have almost finished my first jar:

I’ve seen it on some other blogs, too. It is so. darn. good! It’s got this grittiness to it that gives it a great texture, and combined with the raisins, it almost reminds me of peanut butter flavored cookie dough – which is bad when you start eating it out of the jar šŸ˜‰ But spoonfuls of PB aside, I am in love with Peanut Butter & Co.

Lunch today was a Kidz wrap spread with hummus and topped with sliced deli turkey and tomatoes – YUM! Here it is before I wrapped it up:

And after:

With the wrap I had some caramel-flavored mini rice cakes that I found at the grocery store this weekend.

Here’s a picture of what they look like (a little blurry, oops!)

Later on in the day I had a Banana Walnut Gnu bar for a snack. I’m down to one more bar – and I generally like to buy a big box of bars like these so that I can “grab and go” on NNN show days. Any ideas as to what brand or flavor my next box should be? I’m open to suggestions!! Just not Larabars – sorry šŸ™‚

So after meeting the queen, putting together a newscast, and going to class…I am left with the question – what’s for dinner? Obviously (in my case at least), the roomie and I headed to Panera:

I got the Greek salad with chicken, a whole grain baguette, and the French onion soup (minus the cheese and croutons). Delicious and perfectly portioned, as always. I love this place šŸ™‚

Mmm…bread! How I love it

So all in all, it was a very interesting hump day! I was glad to see that everyone enjoyed the articles I posted – I think I will start doing that more often, particularly on days where it’s hard to blog about my meals. It’s nice to be able to share interesting news with people who love health as much as I do!

Sweet dreams šŸ™‚
