C is for Cookie!

Bonjour! Hola! Hello!

I’d like to start with a confession.

I saw Twilight AGAIN. And it was just as good, if not better, the second time around because there weren’t swarms of screaming girls. Not that I minded that the first time because I was squealing, too! But this time, we went to a matinee show and the theater was relatively empty.

Phew, glad I could get that off my chest ๐Ÿ˜‰ You really must read these books!

Moving on, I was happy to see that so many of you enjoyed the re-posting of my ‘Pump’ It Up Muffins! They definitely are great for the kiddies ๐Ÿ™‚ They taste particularly good with nut butter or jam. Or both!

Breakfast this morning was my tribute to the lovely Gina, aka The Fitnessista or, my personal favorite, G$ ๐Ÿ˜‰ So just what did I make that was inspired by her awesome blog?

cimg7374

Why, a BREAKFAST COOKIE, of course! I followed G$’s recipe to a T – my nut butter of choice was Dark Chocolate Dreams and I used chocolate almond milk to give it an extra cocoa kick. My mix-ins were 1/2 a banana and 1 tbsp. flax. Set it and forget it!

cimg7381

And what did I think of this breakfast creation? Well, for once, I’m going to take my fingers off of the keyboard and let the picture do the talking!

cimg7385

Alright, I’m back  As you can see, I LOVED it! G$ is obviously short for G-E-N-I-U-S! I can’t wait to mix up the recipe and perhaps try it with a cool topping like Greek yogurt. Thank you, Fitnessista! If you haven’t checked out Gina’s blog, head on over (after you finish reading this post, haha) because you’re in for a treat. She is full of spunk and will completely motivate you to get your butt moving!

Of course, I enjoyed her cookie with a mug of Coffee Cocoa on the side. I was beyond thrilled to see that Miss Gliding Calm tried out my recipe both here and here. She’s my first tester as far as I know – has anyone else ever tried it? Let me know if you have!

Today I also received an email from Rena, the lovely sender of those fabulous Arnold Bread samples. She has some information about an exciting new contest that I want to share with you:

I wanted to let you know about a very exciting online contest hosted by Boboli that I thought you and your readers would be interested in!

Every city has a flavor of its ownโ€“ and Boboli is looking for pizza recipe submissions that reflect your favorite football city.ย  To give you an idea, last year we had submissions like New England โ€œClam Bakeโ€ pizza, Miami โ€œHalftime in Havanaโ€ pizza and Tennessee โ€œCoin Tossโ€ fried chicken pizza.

At the conclusion of the entry period, judges will determine up to 4 Semi-Finalist entries which will be posted online for visitors to vote and determine the winners. Online voters will also be entered into a random draw sweepstakes for the chance to win prizes. Some entries, which are not necessarily Semi-Finalists, may be featured on www.boboli.com/football from time to time during the promotion period.

Here are some additional guidelines:

  • The recipe must be original
  • Entry must include the name of your pizza recipe,
  • Entry must include the ingredients, exact U.S. measurements and preparation instructions

For all of the official rules, please visit http://boboli.gwbakeries.com/football/rules.cfm.ย  The contest will end at 11:59 p.m. ET on January 1st โ€“ so please get all of your recipes in before then.

The grand prize winner will receive a TV-Room Makeover worth $5,000 and three runner ups will receive a prize package worth $500.

Check it out, if you’re interested! If you do submit something, please let me know. It would be very cool to read about the various submissions from football cities that readers are living in!

I’ve got one other “nugget” of information for you. Pardon my pun…

The “Nuggets” from Udi’s Granola is outstanding! It is literally granola CHUNKS made with honey, oats, and various nuts that you can pick out and eat, which makes packing them in a bag for a snack that much easier. As Udi puts it, this is “granola you can holda” ๐Ÿ™‚ I like that!

So, to recap:

  1. Go see Twilight.
  2. Go make and eat a breakfast cookie.
  3. Go see Twilight – again.

And enjoy your week! T-minus 2 days, 3 hours and 11 minutes until T-day! Yes, I do have a countdown of my Google homepage

Great info about the Boboli pizza contest – as you know, I LOVE PIZZA!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Twin breakfast bloggers!!!! Your b-fast cookie looks delish. I wish I had had a banana to add to mine. I’ll try that next time considering I’ll definitely be making it again.

I haven’t read or seen the Twlight movies, but judging by how much you like them I might need to….

And the UDI’s nuggets…. totally yummy. I always pick through granola for the pick chunks. Theres no picking through to do with you got the nugs.

  7. Ha. I’ve called my grandparents G$. So I especially love the term.

I keep meaning to make one of those breakfast cookies and keep foregetting. I’m seriously missing out. NO GOOD. I must fix this asap.

Maybe I’ll just skip the Twilight book readings and go see the film since you say it’s so good. I don’t know if I can hold off until I get around to reading them. Then again, maybe I wouldn’t appreciate it as much not having the background knowledge from the books? Oh what a dilemma!

  8. hahahaha…i love that you have a countdown to t-day!

love Gina’s name as G$..hahaha…I need to try her bfast cookie but i don’t have protein powder…any suggestions? i’ll have to ask gina too! i’m afraid if i opt it out it won’t work!

ok i need to see twilight. do you think it will be ok to see it since i haven’t read the book yet, or will i enjoy it more if i’ve read it?? i’m so tempted.. the posters are all over the mall and i was like LET’S GO SEE IT!
i’ve been wanting to try that coffee cocoa ever since i started reading your blog.. might be time to jump on that…

  11. Hey,

I just want to say that I really enjoy your blog and especially your recipes. I don’t comment often, but your blog has some of my favorite recipes: easy, healthy tasting, but still delicious and with fun/tasty combos of ingredients. Keep it up, please! Thanks a lot!

    Katie

  12. i wanted to tell you that i am going to make your pump it up muffins for a holiday party i have for the kiddies – i think they’ll love them – they are just TOO cute!!

  13. You’re hysterical! You saw Twilight again?? You crack me up!

The breakfast cookie looks like it was MORE than just good.

    So excited for vaca! Wooo!

  14. I STILL haven’t seen Twilight!!!! It’s killing me- although I’ve heard some mixed reviews (mostly good).

That breakfast cookie looks delicious ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. oooh granola nuggests, must try. Don’t tell though, I’m supposed to be loyal to Bare Naked. My older sister’s bff growing up actually invented it – yay Kelly!! For my sis’ wedding she brought a huge bag of granola for snackies during the grueling rehearsal / photo sessions.

Haven’t seen Twilight yet!! Don’t hate me for that…

  16. You are so cute with these posts. The breakfast cookie looks v. yummy!

I put cocoa in my coffee, but I don’t add the topping. I might just drink coffee all day long if it were dessert in a mug!

  17. Hey — I don’t have a blog to post it on, but I have had your coffee cocoa for the past few days now… beware folks, it’s addicting!!! And, I found Green & Black’s Dark Hot Chocolate mix to use… mmmmm.
