Skewl 4 My Edumacation

Well, I’m back πŸ™‚ πŸ™ Class officially begins tomorrow (nothing on Monday, Wednesday or Friday again – yes!) and I spent most of my day stocking up on groceries, toiletries and books.

One great part of coming back to school after a long break is getting to pick up my mail. I was really excited to go through it and find three amazing bloggie goodies:

1) The NURU Exercise Anywhere Cards that I won from Kelly’s giveaway.

2) The Barney Butter that I won from Michelle’s giveaway.

3) Last but certainly not least, a very sweet card from Rose for my Blogiversary πŸ™‚ Thanks, lady!

I love snail mail! I feel like in this day in age (haha, not to sound like my grandma or anything) we are bombarded with so much techie stuff. It’s nice to get something from Mr. Postman or Ms. Postwoman once in a while! Thanks, ladies!

So I definitely slept in until 11:00 am this morning! I felt like such a college student πŸ˜‰ I guess technically it’s 9:00 am Arizona time, so I’ll use that as my excuse. Breakfast was a bowl of cereal (Nature’s Path Puffs) and granola (Udi’s Banana + Strawberry) with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I had yet to go to the grocery store, so the shelves were pretty bare!

I also had the required mug of Coffee Cocoa.

After breakfast, I headed out to the grocery store, where I picked up a ton of goodies to use for my meals this week! A lot of them will be blogger-inspired – I’m so excited! I think I spent at least 2 hours perusing the aisles. I tried to stick to what I really needed, but it was fun to look around!

I spent the rest of the day unpacking and buying books for school. I met up with Bobby at Panera for lunch, but unfortunately left my camera at home. But it was nothing you haven’t seen before πŸ˜‰ I got the You Pick Two with Garden Vegetable soup, a Greek salad and a baguette. Classic.

[Imagine lunch here]

Since we ate lunch around 3:00 (that’s what I get for waking up at 11:00!), I really wasn’t hungry for a snack in the afternoon. I headed to the gym and did 30 minutes on the Stairmaster. I was going to do more but the gym was packed and I hate having to weave through sweaty students, haha! So I came back and did some P90X Cardio and all was well.

Dinner tonight was a delicious Humbecue Salmon Salad wrapped up in a FlatOut wrap.

I also had a Grape Kombucha. I found them on sale at my local grocery store!! UH-OH 😳

Lack of groceries = lack of creativity! But everything tasted delicious, and that’s all that matters!

Now I’m watching the ever-amazing 24 and catching up on my blog reading! I should probably do some reading that is suggested for one of my classes tomorrow. Urgh – I hate when there is reading due before a class even starts! It reminds me of summer reading in high school. Maybe that’s why I’m protesting through procrastination πŸ˜‰

  1. Look at all your wins! How fun!! Glad you’re back safe at school- sounds like you have an awesome schedule this semester. I love food shopping- I think I could be in there forever ever! Have a good night πŸ™‚

  2. Grocery shopping is my favorite back to school activity! Actually it’s one of my favorite anytime activity! I can’t wait to see what you make this week!

  3. I’ve never had the grape one. How much did you find it for? I can only find them at Whole Foods and they are $3.50 which adds up!

  4. Welcome back to school! I hope your classes are fun.

and I know what you mean about the assignments before classes start. I’ve had to write PAPERS over the summer in college, can you believe that?!

  5. Summer reading in highschool? You had that? I don’t know anyone here who had to do school work in the summer! That would have been not cool.

  6. i don’t wanna do my required reading, either! hehe πŸ™‚ hmm interesting note about the kombucha. what does it taste like?

  7. Look at all those sweet mail gifts. I need some of your luck to rub off on me- I don’t think I have ever won anything in any kind of draw, raffle and the like.- certainly nothing that I actually was excited to win.

  8. wow your mailbox is a very exciting place!! what a great welcome back to school πŸ™‚ i honestly just love the word “humbecue”. it remind me of a plump, cheeky goblin in a yellow suit. seriously!!

  9. We have the same class schedule πŸ™‚ BARNEY!!! He’s like a bad boyfriend that I keep running into – I miss BB!

What’s Panera?! πŸ˜‰ Great combo, girlie!

  10. welcome back! coming back home to mail is always wonderful.. except when you come back to goat cheese that had been sitting on your porch for two days πŸ™ i was a little bummed about that! i love all the goodies you got!
my goal for this week is to try the humbeque combo. seriously, it’s time πŸ˜€
hope you have a wonderful day <3

  11. I was inspired by your humbecue to make teriyummus last week (I didn’t have BBQ sauce) – same concept but with teriyaki sauce instead of BBQ – so good! I think that was last Wednesday. You are a genius.

And yeah I could easily spend 2 hours at the grocery store if left to my own devices. In fact, I have. If only there was a way to get that pleasure intravenously…

  12. I love walking around in the grocery store for a long time. It’s so much fun looking at products even though it’s stuff I’ve seen before. I always read labels and nutritional informatio and stuff. And there’s always the chance that I discover a new product, which is extra fun. My favorite is going to organic shops and when I am in the US the number one thing I always want to do is go to Whole Foods. I love, love, love that store! My relatives in the US think I am NUTS when it’s the first thing I say I want to do, and then proceed to spend a ridiculous amount of time in the store which drives them crazy. They just don’t understand… πŸ™‚

  13. mmm I totally agree with you! Tasting GOOD is what matters, creativity is nice (and fun), but the bottom line is still flavor! πŸ™‚

Thanks for the thanks Jenn, but I totally don’t deserve it. hahaha Hope you enjoy the cute lil packs of Barney Butter and come up with more creative ways to use it! πŸ˜€ As you always do.

YAY for final quarter of senior year!!! Wahoooo!!

  14. Random eats are sometimes the tastiest. πŸ™‚

Oh, Jenn, I didn’t know you were originally from Minneapolis! What a great city.. I can see why you would miss it!

Oh, I also wanted to let you know – I finished Twilight and omg, I’m hooked!! Thank you sooo much for recommending this great series! I look forward to the Book Club.

Thank again… got to go but New Moon now, haha, πŸ˜‰

  15. I never read before classes started and then told my profs I hadn’t bought my books yet. Batting eyelashes is optional.

    Welcome back!

  16. Welcome baaaaaack! That’s quite the lovely load of mail loot to come back to. Snail mail is the best!

Readings before classes start? Summer readings?! I don’t think I’ve ever had to deal with any of those. I feel lucky right about now. I have a feeling recommended readings are things I would skip out on… haha

  17. What lovely packages to start the quarter! Good luck getting back into the grind of things…It’s hit so fast, hasn’t it? Haha Have fun!

  18. Jenn,
First off, I must comment on Papa Bender’s fajitas from the previous post. Wow! Chris and I are going to AZ in May. Do you think your parents would mind if I showed up for dinner? πŸ™‚

I totally wanted those NURU Cards. I think I tried to win them on 3 different blogs as well as the Quaker robe. You lucky girl! Let me know if you like the cards, and I might just order some for myself from their Website.
