Workin’ It Wedding Week

Hi friends! I just wanted to let you know that I have not deserted you. But a little thing called last minute wedding planning continues to foil my plans to blog! As a result, I have decided that I will save everything for after October 16. šŸ™‚ I have a lot of stuff to share and show you!

Until then, please send positive vibes toward this bride-to-be in the hopes that she doesn’t lose her mind before the big day. šŸ˜‰ Kidding! But who knew there were so many details that went into a wedding?

Did YOU know and not tell me?!

I will likely be back before the end of the week but at least now I’ve got a disclaimer! I will make sure to answer all of your comments and questions at that time, too.

But while I’ve got you here, tell me this…

Ever planned a big event (wedding, work event, etc.)? What is your best advice?

I planned events at my previous job and have planned a few with my company but nothing could have prepared me for the detail and painstaking care that goes into a wedding! That said, I secretly love it and can’t wait to watch everything fall into place, with a few hiccups that I know are bound to happen but that will make it that much more interesting, fun and uniquely ours.

I’d love to hear what your tips and tricks are with just a few days to go. Which, by the way…

4 DAYS TO GO!!!!

Abrazos,

  1. Congratulations! Only 4 days to go… Wow! I planned my own wedding a few years ago (happily married since 2007!), and the few days before the wedding are always the craziest! My best advice is to take the time to truly enjoy every bit of it. Like the path in a journey, planning is also part of the event, and you should take the time to live it to the max. Try to get enough sleep, eat well, and take the time to relax. I found that sharing the last minute planning details with friends and family helps.

    Wish you the best!

  2. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see all of the photos afterwards. I helped with my sisters and my BFFs wedding planning and it was intense. One of the most recent weddings was my sisters last December and we were hit with a blizzard on her wedding day! Talk about last minute planning. We had to postpone the actual wedding to the next day which meant coordinating with everyone. Fortunately all of the vendors were really lovely to work with and accommodated our party. Annie’s wedding will never be forgotten. Despite everything it was a blast and absolutely beautiful.

  3. Yay I can’t believe how fast your wedding is approaching! I think the best tip for organizing an event is just to roll with the punches. Inevitably there will be some kind of snag in the planning and if you get to wrapped up in the idea of “perfection”, you’ll get bent out of shape about the small stuff instead of enjoying the entire celebration. Sounds like you’ve got a good grasp on that already! šŸ™‚

  4. how exciting šŸ™‚ the biggest piece of advice i’ve heard is not to stress the day of your wedding, let everything else go and enjoy it!!

  5. Girl ! are you so excited ?? I am SO excited for you! just gave me chills, I remember reading the engagement post… šŸ˜€

have an amazing week – be present in all the wonderful that is about to happen!

  6. Wooohooo! Congratulations girl!

I’ve worked with two wedding planners and here are my three pieces for you:

    1. Make a list. Maybe I’m just a list maker, but as things come up that you want to do, write them down. You have too much going on to remember everything.

    2. Don’t stress. Everything will work out and can be fixed, which leads me to the last things as…

    3. Take time to savor the day. It will go by so quickly and you don’t want to lose sight of what you’re really doing and that’s to marry the love of your life and celebrate with your friends and family šŸ™‚

  7. I am also getting married this Saturday… can’t believe it’s already here! I am going through the last minute stresses – and have been planning long distance like you!

  8. Heh… yeah, I knew. But, we lucked out and had a venue that took care of most of the piddly details for us, so it was less of a worry. I tended to just give myself tasks to do!
I can’t believe its so close!!!

  9. BEST OF LUCK! So much love to you! It will be incredible. And remember you and maybe your Mom and future husband will be the only people who will know if any detail is off. Don’t sweat the small stuff šŸ™‚

  10. Congrats Jenn!! I’m so happy for you! As you know, I’ve planned a wedding (without a wedding planner) and I have to say that it was tough! SoOo much detail to go through. My advice is to just enjoy yourself and don’t sweat the small stuff. Even if there was big stuff let others handle it. If you begin to feel stressed, have a drink. šŸ™‚

  11. Jenn, I can’t believe your wedding is almost here! I’m so happy for you! I would say to just remember to relax and enjoy yourself! Don’t let anything stress you out! After all, you are marrying the man of your dreams! If little things go wrong, who cares?! It will probably just make for fun memories and you’ll be able to look back and laugh! Just remember to breathe, let everything sink in, and really embrace every moment of the day!

Congratulations to you and Bobby! I wish you both a lovely wedding day and a lifetime of happiness!

  12. In the midst of my (first) half marathon excitement I may not get a chance to pop by here so I wanted to do it now . . .

I hope you and Bobby have the most incredible day!!!! You two deserve that and more. In fact, you deserve a lifetime of happiness!!!!!!

You will make a gorgeous bride! šŸ™‚

    All the best!!!!

  13. congrats to you! i planned my own wedding 7 years ago – i remember drinking a lot that week beforehand (ha ha). just remember to breathe, enjoy every second, and know that even if things aren’t “perfect” it’s still going to be amazing and everyone will have a great time.

oh – make sure your undergarments aren’t sticking out of your dress. because mine were, and it shows in a lot of pix!!!
