Nieces Pieces: Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jenn

by Jenn (eating bender) on July 5, 2011

When your weekend starts with all smiles…

…and ends looking like this…

…it’s hard to even know where to begin!

As I mentioned at the end of my last post, Bobby and I ventured to San Diego for the long holiday weekend to visit my brother-in-law, Jim, sister-in-law, Cara, and our new nieces: Caroline and Kelly.

They are otherwise known as two of the most adorable young women on the planet. Don’t you agree?

I stayed true to my goal this weekend of taking plenty of pictures that were not of the food variety.

It was a pretty easy job, considering that I had two fantastic subjects. We had an amazing time with the new family — taking plenty of walks along the lagoon and on the beaches. Caroline and Kelly’s big sister, Dublin (the dog), came along a few times, too!

Cara and Jim truly are amazing new parents! The girls already have their own unique personalities and were so much fun. One of our favorite activities was baby soccer, in which the sisters square off against one another, each with their own stuffed animal teammate. šŸ˜‰ We were truly sad to leave and look forward to seeing everyone again closer to Thanksgiving.

Happy two month birthday, girls! Your Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jenn could not be happier to have you in our lives. In fact, today I even wrote them a letter, which you can read here.

**Just as I finished writing this post, Bobby received a call from my other brother-in-law, Adam, announcing the birth of our newest niece: Claire Susannah! Congratulations to Adam and Susan. We can’t wait to see pictures!**

This week promises to be just as exciting, as my entire family is coming to town starting tomorrow for some Chicago food and fun. Looking forward to sharing more after our time together!

How did you celebrate the long holiday weekend?

Also love those carriers that the boys have on in that one picture. My favorite are those ones where babies can look out, I think it inspires curiousity in babies!
