My Seven Links To Start August Off Right

I have to admit — I’ve been feeling a bit out of the loop in the food blog world lately. I know “life happens” — and it happens fast — but there are days where I wonder where the past seven months have gone. Seriously. How can it be August already?

It’s for this reason that I was thrilled when Mara tagged me in her seven links post yesterday! There’s no better way to reflect on the past seven months (plus three years) of blogging and, more importantly, engaging with all of you!

1) My most beautiful post.

Involving food:

Risotto-A-Go-Go

This recipe is by far one of the best I’ve ever made. Try it immediately!

Not involving food:

He Put A Ring On It (My Wedding Ceremony Post)

I call this my most beautiful non-food post because it was the most beautiful day of my life and I have also never felt more beautiful than I did walking down the aisle toward Bobby’s smiling face. ๐Ÿ™‚

This video gets me every time:

I can’t believe it has already been 10.5 months!

2) My most popular post.

If You Like It Then… (My Engagement Post)

It may not be food related, but I am still so happy that my engagement post remains my most popular. I will never forget that day and seeing the comments and support pour in was absolutely incredible.

The very sweet Allison even sent me an email with a screen shot notifying me that I had made the Hawt Blog on WordPress!

3) My most controversial post.

My Big, Sparkly Announcement

Things have never really gotten out-of-control controversial on my blog, but probably the most controversial post for me personally was when I announced that I was quitting my job to start a business back in February 2009. My reasons being that 1) I was basically making a public announcement that I was unhappy with my job even though I was still working there for two more weeks and 2) Jill and I announced that we were campaigning to speak at BlogHer about a business that we had not even started yet. That is about as ballsy as I get. I know. Go ahead, laugh at my inability to break the rules. ๐Ÿ™‚

4) My most helpful post.

P90X: 90 Days Later (Complete with very embarrassing video!)

After I posted my review, I received many emails from people wanting to learn more. It continues to get viewed on YouTube and I am very proud of the fact that my success could inspire others to start the program! Even if the video is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S.

I’m not sure who this super-shy-girl voice belongs to but it is not me! ๐Ÿ˜‰

5) A post whose success surprised me.

Chobani Greek Yogurt

Thanks to good ol’ SEO, I have become one of Chobani’s unintentional consumer feedback channels. I tend to receive at least 3-6 comments a month on a review post I wrote for them waaaay back in December of 2008 (some good, some not so good) and the people who leave said comments do not distinguish me as a food blogger — they consider me an arm of the company.

When you Google “Chobani” I am the second link that comes up that is not part of the website, second only to FitSugar and just above the New York Times. I have no idea how this happened but I am not complaining in the least! Love you, Chobani. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m proud.

6) A post that didn’t get the attention it deserved.

Food Blogger Book Club

I feel as though this is both a combination of me not being dedicated enough when this was originally created and the difficulty of now coordinating 100+ schedules, but I truly wish the food blogger book club was still active. In recent months, I’ve attempted to revive it through messaging within the club but never get more than one or two responses.

If you would like to get serious about re-launching this club, EMAIL ME! Let’s figure out a way to make it work. There are at least 157 people who are interested, which I think is awesome!

7) The post I’m most proud of.

When Good Enough Is Good Enough

This was a tough choice, but one thing I know for sure is that my first-ever My Portion post was a hit and will always stand out to me as the moment I thought I had found my place in the blogging world. It wasn’t even that I had a certain number of readers or comments; it was the fact that I had managed to successfully cultivate a thoughtful conversation around a topic that I was passionate about that truly makes me smile.

***

Thanks again to Mara for tagging me! I know it has been making its way around but if you still have not been tagged, consider this your open opportunity to write a seven links post of your own!

By the way, it was Mara’s birthday this past weekend and I got to celebrate with her.

If you still haven’t yet, go wish her a very happy 31st year!

Tell me: What post are you most proud of on your own blog?

That was by far my most favorite question and I would love to hear your answers!

Abrazos,

  3. I don’t know whether it’s just me or if everyone else encountering problems
with your website. It appears as if some of the written text within your posts are running off the screen.
Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is happening to
them too? This might be a problem with my web browser because
I’ve had this happen previously. Thank you

  4. Best of all, it features a sensitive flexing head designed to bend to the contours of your face,
resulting in a comfortable, close shave.
If many people would be using the new automatic teeth-brushing device,
then the batteries might require extra charging in the
course of the month. However, there are certain important constraints that should
be kept in mind before making a choice.

  5. Primarily it sold fried chicken but now due to a lot of competition in
this type of food market it has come up with different types of burgers, sandwiches and salads to capture the
market. You should call the number of the restaurant closest to you and your order will be delivered within the given time limit.
It is necessary for us to figure out effective ways to solve
    this tough trouble.

share all the gastronomic delights of India is the Khana Khazana website.

Keeping this craze in mind companies are opening outlets
in different parts of the world.
