Last night was the perfect occasion for dusting off a bit o’ bubbly.

(Note: I wasn’t joking about dusting it off. Clearly, it had been biding it’s time. Still delicious, though!)

Bobby arrived home with fantastic news: he was officially promoted at work! Considering the fact that he truly enjoys his job – and works hard at it, if I do say so myself – he was thrilled. I could not be prouder of or happier for him, and decided the night could not go by without a proper champagne toast.

A blog toast is in order, too. Congratulations to my husband. Your dedication and passion for what you do brings a huge smile to my face. You truly inspire me to work hard every day!

Even if I don’t always abide by your 6:00 a.m. wake-up calls. Hey, I have to draw the line somewhere.

Congrats to your hubby! It’s always nice when hard work gets noticed and rewarded.

oh, and i wish 6:00 was our wake-up call… 5:30 is not nice!

2 Jenn (eating bender) January 25, 2012 at 11:16 am: Thank you, Christina! Oh yes – I used to have a 5:30 wake-up call (self-inflicted) in college. Not sure what I was thinking at the time – although I do admit to loving the quiet hours of the morning when I can get my body up at those hours!

What does he do, if you don’t mind me asking (and it’s not private)?

10 Jenn (eating bender) January 25, 2012 at 12:44 pm: I don’t mind at all! He is an equity analyst at a small trading firm here in Chicago. Basically, as he puts it, his job is to “read the news” all day. He covers certain sectors/companies (hundreds of them!) and analyzes what is going on with them to determine whether his company should take action (they trade options). It’s definitely a fast-paced job!
