The Nieces Pieces: “Triplets” Edition

by Jenn (eating bender) on April 10, 2012

What. A. Weekend!

This aunt is still smiling at the memory of many fun adventures with our nieces pieces. Our trip to Kansas City was incredible! We sincerely enjoyed our time with Susan, Adam and Claire…Cara, Jim, Caroline and Kelly…and Barb and John (Bobby’s parents).

I confess…I may have gone a little overboard on pictures. No doubt the girls, their parents and grandparents thought my camera was a third limb by the end of the weekend. (And maybe that I was a little bit camera crazy, as well.)

BUT! Despite my nonstop clicking and clacking, Bobby and I had plenty of quality time with these three amazing young women, and it was so worth it to capture Claire, Kelly and Caroline (clockwise, below) at this very special age. The twins (Caroline and Kelly) are turning one next month, and Claire Bear is not far behind in July.

Each niece has her own unique and sparkling personality. The youngest babe in the bunch, Claire Bear, has an army crawl that would impress even the strictest drill sergeant, a knack for lounging in mermaid pose, a complementary passion for swimming kicks and a giggle that will melt your heart.

The second oldest cousin, Kelly (or K-Mo), is a bubbly, babbling beauty. One glance at Kelly this weekend and you were likely to get a cheerful “Hi!” in return. She is also an expert at saying “ball,” “dog” and “shoe,” among others…and her latest addition: “Bobby!”

And the oldest little bundle of smiles is Sweet Caroline (C-line). Her talents include standing without assistance, an amazing throwing arm (could she follow in her aunt’s softball pitching footsteps??) and one of the best facial expressions I’ve ever seen (more on that later).

Since I wasn’t kidding about the abundance of pictures, I thought it might be fun to utilize my most recent Picasa collage obsession. There is a lot of ground to cover, so here we go!

First up: the games! Our favorites from the weekend included climbing the stairs, tower destruction, peek-a-boo, swinging at the park, reading and plenty of good eatin’ and crawlin’.

We also had the opportunity to go on an outdoor excursion to the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead. The girls (and the adults) had a lot of fun checking out the pigs, goats, cows, buffalo…and one ugly turkey! Sorry, turkey. You know it’s true.

And what would a weekend with all three nieces be without plenty of cousin interaction? It was so much fun to watch them find and chase after each other. Chomping was a popular activity. :)

As you can see, we were very busy! Bobby and I could not be prouder to call them our nieces.

But the fun doesn’t end there! The “egg”-stravaganza continues in the next post. Until then…

Smell ya later! Told you it was a great expression. 😉

Adorable nieces! Your Picasa collage of them looks like my Easter gathering…my cousins are all having babies, and there were so many little ones running around, I couldn’t keep them straight! Love your pictures. :)
