Nieces Pieces: Snow Day Edition

by Jenn (eating bender) on January 4, 2013

You didn’t think I could come back from a visit with the nieces pieces and not have a few (or more) photos to share, did you? We may have ended the trip under the weather, but we also took advantage of the weather while we were still healthy. One thing you can usually count on in Minnesota this time of year is a blanket of snow. A few successful runs down a small hill in Bobby’s parents’ backyard, and we were ready for some sledding!

Cara and Caroline were up first. You see that look of pure joy on Caroline’s face? She is as brave and adventurous as they come. After only a few runs with co-pilots, she decided to commandeer a sled solo, riding down on her belly while one of us pulled her. She was in heaven!

Kelly and Claire were a bit more hesitant, but once they started riding they were eager for more.

This aunt loved their snow outfits. They looked so cute all bundled up. Here’s Kelly the snow bunny:

And they seemed to love the new duds, too.

When we needed a respite from the cold, we came inside to play reindeer games. There were some old favorites, such as yelling into cups – or in this case, Cool Whip containers – with Uncle Bobby…

…and reading plenty of excellent books.

There were also some new favorites, such as present unwrapping, as well as finding ways to play with wrapping paper and boxes. Because everybody knows that the really good stuff is the packaging. Who needs a gift, anyway? 😉 Unless they’re books, of course.

And one of my favorite photo memories from the trip…the girls in their Christmas finest!

We had a great time with everyone, including the extended family we were able to see throughout the week. Big thanks to Aunt Lisa and Uncle Bob for letting us stay with you!

Cara and Susan have some excellent recaps on their blogs, too. Check ’em out here, here and here for even more cuteness. It’s so much fun to watch the girls interact with one another – you all know by now how much we love our nieces pieces. Missing everyone already!

So much fun! I have to say – though I love my nephews to pieces and wouldn’t trade them for anything, little girls’ outfits are just SO freakin’ cute!

Great post – I’ve looked at it a number of times now. :) Way to go on getting the best stairs pic… that’s a huge accomplishment. Claire’s snow pants make me laugh every time I see them.
