Eating Bender Turns Two

Good evening, everyone!

I’ve been waiting all day to share this post with you. March 16, 2010 will always hold a very special place in my heart. Not only is it 7 months away from our wedding…

{Our Save-the-Dates are out! The beautiful design courtesy of the one and only Mama Bender.}

It’s also Eating Bender’s 2nd Official BLOGIVERSARY!!

Last year I celebrated with a lot of craziness, trivia and hoopla 🙂 You can read all about it here: Bender’s 1st Blogiversary. This year, however, I decided to simply pay tribute to some old favorites.

I started the day with Coffee Cocoa.

And enjoyed a very special batch of Humbecue Salmon Salad for lunch!

Mmm…humbecue 🙂 It all started with Humbecue Tortilla Pizza and I was sold from there. My good friend Brittany tried it on Pi(e) day and I think she may just like it as much as me!

It seems like no time has passed between now and when I wrote a ridiculously lame — hey, I wrote it, so therefore I can admit it — post on Baby Kiwi that fine March day in 2008. But even though it seems like that was just yesterday, there is SO much that has happened!

And 2010 promises to be just as crazy. From my big announcement to the start of another blog and my new company, you all must think that I am either:

  1. A glutton for work overload
  2. Obsessed with being busy or
  3. Certifiably insane

I think we could argue that all of those are probably true 😉 But I wouldn’t have it any other way!

You all know how much I love you, right? That love will only continue to grow as we look at a third year of blogging about food, restaurants and some of the most random tidbits you could ever imagine. Those of you who have reached out to me recently and told me that you’ve been reading from the early beginnings — your words truly touched me and I am so, so grateful.

That said, those of you who are reading the blog for the first time or just passing through — I care about you, too! I hope you’ll sit down and stay a while. Anyone who has been here before can tell you that I tend to have a lot to say — I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but it’s me!

As always, thanks for stopping by Eating Bender and sharing this experience with me. There is no way I’d be looking back on two years of blogging without each and every one of you. I cherish the relationships I have with other bloggers and readers, some of which I know will last a lifetime.

I would also like to thank Papa Bender for his dedication to creating new recipes 🙂

Now it’s time to raise your mug of Coffee Cocoa — or, if it’s nighttime, a glass of red wine. CHEERS!!

Abrazos!

    • Aw, thank you Shannon! Hope that we’ll be able to meet at a conference this year (or if we’re ever in each other’s cities!) — I feel like I’ve known you forever and that we should have already met in person!

    • Thank you! I heart Hangry Pants! I still remember the email I received from you that day in 2008 where you talked about a certain Meatless Month challenge that you and your boyfriend were doing 🙂

  11. Happy Blogiversary Jenn!!! Like some others I’ve been a reader since the early days and I like the fact that you have a lot to say. You’re posts are always a pleasure to read!

PS Thanks for the humbecue shout out. I’m sad that I waited so long to try such a delicious creation. I have to make up for lost time and eat more humbecue tuna tomorrow. 🙂

    • Haha – it’s good that you like that I have a lot to say otherwise I think I’d be in trouble!! I’m so, so glad that you like the Humbecue combination! Thanks for being such an awesome friend 🙂

  12. Jenn, I love your Save-the-Date cards! Mama Bender did such a great job on the design! I love, love, love how the card is so unique! I think it adds something extra special when things are customized to reflect not only the occassion you are celebrating but your personality as well! I love how the scenery is in color but the pictures of you and Bobby are in black and white! It’s such a nice contrast but goes together so well at the same time! It’s just beautiful! And the pictures of you and Bobby are so cute! You two always seem so in love in all your pictures, you just both seem to glow and exude such happiness!

  13. Oh, and congrats on your 2-year Blogging Anniversary! Awesome! Your blog was one of the very first I started reading, and continues to be one of my very favorites! And what’s nice is that even with all the success and momentum you have gained with your blog, you still seem as humble and gracious as you were when you first started blogging! There is just a such a sense of genunineness which is really refreshing! So here’s to wishing you continued success in all your endeavors! You definitely deserve it!

  14. yayyyyyyyyyyy! we are in the 2 year blogging club!!! It’s so crazy right?! Still can’t believe that you were the first blogger I ever met in person!!! Loved that WF adventure!! We just kept saying things like:
