Barney Butter

Barney Butter

I was more than thrilled to be given the chance to review Barney Butter on my blog, especially considering the rave reviews that it’s been getting from Tina over at Carrots ‘N’ Cake and Gina, The Fitnessista. I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to Jennifer Barney for making it possible!

After doing some research on the company site, I realized that Jennifer created Barney Butter in her own kitchen – what a great story! And now they have moved into an almond-only facility, which is great news for those looking for an alternative to peanut butter due to allergies, etc.

Ingredients: Almonds, Evaporated Cane Juice, Palm Fruit Oil, Sea Salt.

Review: I’ve been using the 90-calorie packs in pretty much everything I eat – they are SO. GOOD! The evaporated cane juice adds a slightly sweet taste, making it a lot different from other almond butters I tried. In fact, I wasn’t a big fan of almond butter until I tried Barney Butter! I love raw almonds, but thought the texture of some of the other brands was a little off. I like the fact that Barney Butter comes in both creamy and crunchy and is no-stir, so I don’t have to worry about oil on the top of the jar.

Here are just a few of the ways I’ve been using Barney Butter:

1) On top of plain Greek yogurt with blueraspberries.

2) In Friday’s oatmeal – yes, VeggieGirl guessed the mystery ingredient!

And of course, I also used it in today’s breakfast AND lunch, as you just saw 🙂 I think it’s safe to say I’m hooked on Barney Butter! Thanks again to Jennifer for creating a great product and sending me some to try for myself. I hope it makes it into stores near me soon!

  1. I love your reviews! I just bought some u-grind almond butter at the store, and I’m not sure I’m keen on the taste/texture. Your review is inspiring me to order some Barney Butter (or maybe the Barney Butter Fairy will send me some!).

  2. I’m SOOO devastated I have not been able to find barney butter in my grocery store, I’ve heard such great things about it! Also, have you tried chia seeds? I cant find them anywhere but that is another item that I can not find in my grocery store.
