Chobani Greek Yogurt

I was lucky enough to receive a box of samples from Tiffany at Chobani. Some of you have probably tried this brand of Greek yogurt before. But for those who aren’t as familiar, I hope this review will be helpful. And for those who are familiar – feel free to chime in with your opinion and agree or disagree with me!

Chobani Greek Yogurt

From the Chobani website: “Chobani Greek Yogurt is a richer, more indulgent way to get your protein. Chobani is all-natural made with hormone-free milk and low sugar.”

Chobani 0% Plain

Ingredients:

CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.

Review:

I am a big fan of the Plain variety. It’s got just the right balance of tartness and creaminess, so it isn’t overwhelmingly bitter and I am able to eat a container without putting in massive amounts of granola, syrup, etc. You have to stir the yogurt to get rid of some of the liquid, but that’s not really a big deal. Overall, the plain flavor was my absolute favorite because it’s very versatile and packs an insane amount of protein with only a small amount of sugar.

Chobani 0% Vanilla

Ingredients:

CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK, SUGAR, NATURAL VANILLA FLAVOR. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.

Review:

As far as sweetened Greek yogurts go, this vanilla flavor has got it goin’ on! The sweetness isn’t overpowering and I still feel like I’m eating something light and nutritious. The sugar content is a bit higher, but it’s no different than regular fruit-flavored yogurts. I also should mention that I love the fact that all of these yogurts have five live active cultures. Coming from someone with stomach issues, a little probiotic never hurts!

Review:

If I’m being honest – and I am! – this was my least favorite out of all the sample flavors I received. The first bite was slightly bitter and off in some way, and I didn’t think the peach added much to the overall flavor, especially considering that it contributed so much extra sugar. As I continued eating, I did notice the flavor start to get better, so perhaps I just didn’t stir it well enough initially. The biggest difference between the plain variety and the fruit flavors in terms of nutrition is the extra sugar and a smaller amount of protein. But the cool thing about the fruit flavors is that there is REAL fruit at the bottom, so if you stir it up really well, you are able to get a small taste with every bite.

Chobani 0% Strawberry

Review:

The strawberry flavor, on the other hand, was FANTASTIC. I suppose it may depend on what fruits you prefer to eat – I happen to like strawberries and blueberries better than peaches, particularly when it comes to yogurt. I thought that this flavor was incredibly creamy and the strawberry chunks were huge and really sweetened the deal. I think the key to the fruit flavors is to make sure to stir and spread the fruit syrup and chunks around so that you don’t have a bitter/sweet separation.

Chobani 0% Blueberry

Review:

The blueberry was by far the best fruit flavor, in my opinion. Everything came together perfectly to create a creamy, sweet container of Greek goodness. Just look at that blueberry chunk in the picture above, and I’m sure you see what I mean 🙂 Through my review of all of the Chobani yogurts, the one area that seems to stay constant is the fact that it is the creamiest Greek yogurt I have had to date. It may require more stirring initially, but the overall taste difference is so worth it!

If you are uneasy about making the switch to Greek yogurt because you find the plain versions to be too bitter no matter how much honey, maple syrup, etc. you add to the mix, I highly suggest you check out Chobani and its vanilla and fruit-flavored versions. It will help make the transition into Greek yogurt easier, and you’ll still be getting a lot of the protein and probiotic benefits!

Thanks again to Tiffany for the great samples!

    • I love yogurt, but just had no desire to try the Greek yogurt. Everyone keeps saying how great it is. I tried it two weeks ago, and I am hooked! The raspberry is my favorite. I shake it up then put it in the freezer for an hour or so. ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh so good!!

  1. I have to say – Chobani yogurt is my favorite new nutritional find. The strawberry one tastes like a piece of strawberry cheesecake without all the fat, and I cannot believe the amount of protein in this yogurt! How do they do it? The plain has 18 grams! Do you happen to know if that is a whole protein (like in meat) or just a partial protein that needs to be combined with another to be whole? So good tho – I have been mixing the plain with a couple of Splenda packets and a whole bowl of mixed berries, it is so good!

  2. Dana Koenig ~ Glad you like Chobani – it’s definitely one of my favorites! I’m pretty sure that it’s whole protein. It’s amazing how much they can pack into those containers. Your mix-ins sound awesome! Enjoy!

  3. I just wanted to say thanks so much for this article – it was really informative and really well written. I’ve got some of the peach in my refrigerator, and I think I’m going to definitely go for the plain 0% fat next time.

I’ve just started a new article series on my quest for a healthy, balanced diet that is really easy to follow, and most especially, enjoy!

Here they are, check em out if you dont mind. These two are on fiber and carbs, and how to speed up your metabolism.

  4. I tried this brand of Greek Yogurt for the first time today. Blueberry was my choice and it was a great one. Better then other brands I’ve tried in the past. Will buy again.

  5. Make ANY flavor Chobani! Just buy plain…the options are unlimited!
Plain + Cherry Jam = Cherry Chobani
Plain + Maple Syrup = Maple Chobani
Plain + Grandma’s Applesauce = Spiced Apple Chobani
Plain + Lemon Curd + Freezer = Lemon Ice Chobani
Plain + Mashed Ripe Banana = Bananas & Cream Chobani
Plain + Mushroom Gravy = Gross
    etc…

    • Hahaha! I love the “Plain + Lemon Curd + Freezer” and the “Plain + Mushroom Gravy.” I totally giggled in the middle of a meeting (yea, ok, I’m reading blogs, but in my defense, I am just a face at this meeting.)

I’ll pass on the gravy, but I’ll give them lemon curd a shot. 🙂

  6. I just tried Chobani for the first time today! I have been wanting to switch to a yogurt that has more than just taste and sugar in a cup. I had the Vanilla Chobani and cut up some kiwi and blueberry flax for mix in’s. Not too bad, I will buy some more this weekend! – Lindsay

  7. I love the honey and vanilla flavored. I mixed in a little cinnamon added some cut up strawberries, banana and raisins and called it a meal. it was so delicious! I must add that up until Chobani I hated yogurt because of the tastes…This yogurt is by far the best I have ever had and have recommended it to all my Facebook friends!

      • I don’t know if alot of yogart is good for you the way I eat it now. I’m trying to stay away from candy and I’m in love wth the Chobani Peach yogart. I eat 3 or 4 a day. No problems. I sever every bite. Please don’t change the flavor. I will buy uo to 20 when on sell. Would love to have some coupons for this.

    • I just bought some honey-ana flavor and I dont’ know the deal but it tasted like booze. I couldn’t even take a second bite.
I don’t know if it was spoiled or what.

  8. I tasted the Chobani strawberry yogurt today with granola and it was the best tasting yogurt I have tasted.
My taste buds are still thanking me.I am glad to have found a yogurt with the amount of protien for me.

  9. Today was my first taste of Chobani yogurt[Pomegranate]…and I’m hooked! It was incredibly delicious…and even better,is the nutritional value! The downside is not being able to purchase this product anywhere near my home,Princeton WV.I was visiting my sister in Thomasville NC,and purchased Chobani at the Food Lion there. Another special feature of Chobani is that it’s manufactured in New Berlin NY,the home of my niece and her husband…who own the New York Pizzeria…some of the finest cuisine in Central New York!

    Chobani rates an A+!

  10. I tried the yogurt a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious. Unfortunately, it turns out that I am extremely allergic to one of the active ingredients. If you are someone with allergies to antibiotics, you should talk to your doctor before trying the yogut to make sure that it is ok for you to eat. I would hate for anyone to have to go through the reaction that I had.

    • Hi Janice. I get an allergic reaction to greek yogurt and not to other yogurt. I can’t figure it out. I am allergic to antibiotics. If anyone can explain this to me, I would appreciate it. Thank you!!

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts ladies. I’m not sure if I can explain what is happening, but hopefully you are able to figure it out. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a reaction to it!

    • I love the taste of Chobani, but the last 2 times I ate it for lunch, I had nausea and palpitations that night and next morning.

    • I think I had an allergic reaction too! It made my throat really dry and it felt hard to breathe. You mentioned about being allergic to antibiotics, I happen to be allergic to penicillin, (really all the ‘cillins’) and bactrum. Is that what everyone else is allergic to?

      • StepH,

I am allergic to bactrum, all sulpha drugs and penicillin. I had 4 inflamatory attacks that affected every joint in my body. I could not bend any of them, fingers, toes, knees, shoulders, elbows etc etc. Couldn’t turn my neck or head. It was extremely painful and blood tests showed inflamation in my organs also. It was horrible. The last attack lasted 4 days. My husband realized I was eating 2 chobani yogurts a day. Each attack was worse than the rest. Stopped the yogurt. Attacks stopped.

8 months later forgot and ate chobani. Attack ! This time only lasted 1 day. Not so horrible

        • Laurie could you email me more detail about your reactions please? I am allergic to bactrim and all sulfa products just recently I began to have projectile vomiting after eating yogurt (in general, not just Chobani). I am sure mine is food poisoning but I am still interested in your story. Thank you!

        • I bought a pack of Chobani at Costco at a reduced price since it was only few days to the expiration date. Two of my kids had stomachache and diarrhea and I had a severe case of stomachache, diarrhea, headache. I was wiped out for a day and could not get up, eat, do anything but sleep. We were all miserable. Coincidentally, I am also allergic to Bactrim and Amoxicillin. We love yogurt and we are usually okay with other brand. Chiobani tastes good and so sad to say we are allergic to it and/or it don’t agree with our stomach. . . Does the amount of bacteria increase (get stronger?) if it is close to the expiration date??

    • I too think i’m having allergic reaction to the yogurt i had the honey/vanilla and broke out in a rash all over my body a few hours later its sad cause i really enjoy this yogurt. i also am allergic to a few different antibiotics.

      • Add me to the list of those allergic to chobani…I also am allergic to penicillin and several other antibiotics! As far as I know, I do not have any dairy allergies nor have I had any reactions to the one other Greek yogurt brand that I’ve tried. Yesterday I ate the pineapple flavor (which was delicious) and about an hour later had the worst nausea and abdominal pain of my life. I’m going to keep doing some research on this to figure out what’s going on.

        • I’ve had chobani several times, but ate some of the pineapple flavor today, experienced some pretty bad stomach pain, and then a few minutes later broke out in a red, itchy, splotchy rash all over my body. Benedryl seems to be doing the trick, and I got to go home from work early.
I think I’m gonna stay away from yogurt for a while

      • I ate the black cherry this morning and had an allergic reaction. My face started to swell with a dry throat. I took two benadryl. First this this has ever happened.

        • To add to this. I ate a Yoplait Greek Black Cherry yogurt a few days ago, and did not have an allergic reaction.

          • Yep, same here, only it was Oikos Greek Black Cherry. Ate it and then an hour later had a horrible, horrible, red rash all over my face! Took a full week on Benadryl to fully go away. I am not allergic to ANYTHING! I tried it again last week thinking that it couldn’t really have been the yogurt and after only three spoonfuls the itching started up and I started getting a headache immediately. Tossed it in the trash and started guzzling water to get it out of my system. I’m fine with any other Oikos flavor. It’s something in that Black Cherry that sets me off. Ugh…horrible!

    • A few weeks ago, I tried the pineapple and mango flavors. They were both delicious! But, a few hours later, I was having terrible stomach pains and diarreah. Last night I ate a container of pineapple yogurt. It was so delicious, I wanted to lick the cup when I was finished! Unfortunately, this morning I have another horrible stomach ache and am about doubled over in pain from the gas! Yes, diarrreah again! So, I started doing some Internet research on why this could be happening. I found it could be due to the bacteria used in culturing the yogurt. Now, I see there are people who are allergic to antibiotics who also experience abdominal troubles after eating the yogurt! I’m allergic to almost every antibiotic available! I wonder if this is the true key to the trouble!

    • I have been trying to figure out for over a year what I was allergic to and yogurt was the last thing on my mind. I love Greek yogurt and started eating it every day. I also started having a swollen tongue every day with my taste budes along the base of my tongue being very swollen. I had allergy tests for wheat, fish, soy, etc but nothing showed up. I started elimintating foods and watching my diet. I got tired of eating yogurt all the time and stopped but still didn’t put two and two together as yogurt is healthy and I’ve never had problems with milk. Well, I started up on yogurt again and my tongue started swelling again and I hear my digestive track gurgle. So, quit eating, went away. That’s when I decided to look on the internet to see if others had problems with yogurt. So, I’m convinced I’m allergic and I think it is more specifically to Greek yogurt.

      • Also, I’m allergic to a couple antibiotics such as sulfa based but not the “cillins”. How strange. I really want to know more and understand.

        • i just recently started eating that, and drinking kefir. both make my throat feel tight. also, i am allergic to some antibiotics, sulfa and bactrim. i’ve tried two different kinds of greek yogurt. :/

      • I recently started to eat Chobani Greek yogurt, which I was enjoying until I inexplicably started to have bouts of diarrhea. I eat Dannon yogurt and all kinds of other dairy with no problems, but this product seems to be different, at least for me.

        • I agree, Robert. I haven’t noticed any other symptoms from dairy until I’ve had the Chobani. Bad deal.

          • I love chobani and I’m not allergic to anti biotics, but chobani makes my throat scratchy feeling ever time I eat it. 🙁 pineapple doesn’t seem to be as bad as the others I have tried.

  11. I tried Chobani Yogurt a few months ago and I am hooked. Very tasty, rich and creamy. Blows the other yogurts away. And the toll free number is answered in America !! Not some overseas call center. I’m loving this company !!!!

  12. I was just introduced to Chobani yogurt from Costco. I am quite surprised at how much I like it! I had always been a fan of Yoplait, but felt they had too much sugar. Chobani’s flavored yogurt has a bit less sugar but comes with a protein punch! I am trying the plain and honey Chobani yogurts next as I am looking for yogurts with minimal sugars and no artificial sweeteners…trying to go back to nature without all the chemicals we have come to know if our food!

So far Chobani is a success with me! No more Yoplait, Chobani will now take its place…permanently!

  13. I’ve grow to love lowfat/nofat dairy food.

But most have too much sodium (salt). Not so with Chobani! Recent studies claim that sodium is worse for your health than saturated fat.

I’m hooked on their zero percent plain yogurt. Just hope I can find some bulk deals on the 32 oz containers.

    • I agree. Doesn’t happen with any other yogurt! I had to quit eating it as well, couldn’t keep getting sick at work!

  14. I tried chobani yogurt for the first time yesterday. I loved the taste and the fact of bone building calcium and high protein. It was going to be my new choice for yogurt. Unfortunately I ended up in the ER 12 hours later. I had a severe allergic reaction with bad rash , itching, and shortness of breath. Benedryl and prednisone took care of it and I am fine. Something with the active cultures must have not agreed with me. I am sorry I will not be able to eat this yogert because I really enjoyed the taste.

    • I too had an extremely bad reaction to greek yogurt, although it was OIKOS brand. The first time, I thought I had come down with a bad case of stomach flu. I have eaten yogurt for years and had no problem, so I didn’t relate my flu like symptoms to the new yogurt.

I also broke out in a rash and knew thought it was like the rashes I used to get because of an allergic reaction to certain fruits, but there was no fruit in the yogurt, it was plain and as it was very hot and humid, I thought the rash was actually heat rash.

Then I had another greek yogurt this week and within 15 minutes I was projectile vomiting. This left no doubt what had caused my reaction. Same rash as before as well.

I was researching on the net to see what the ingredient was that caused my reaction. I knew it had to be an active culture that caused the reaction, as that was the only difference in the other brands of yogurt I eat.

This reaction I was like my reaction to penicillin. I haven’t taken any in so many years (about 40) that I had not recalled the symptoms of my allergic reaction to it..

So please be aware of your allergies!

      • I am allergic to penicillin and sulfa antibiotics. The last time I took sulfa, when I found out about my allergy, I felt like I had been poisoned. Stomach cramps, vomiting, and severly sick for almost a week. I ate a Chobani yogurt last week and thought I got a severe stomach flu for 3 days. Then I stayed away from dairy completely for the week, but I ate another yogurt last night and I’m having the same symptoms again. Based on the other comments, I would guess that it’s the yogurt. I have never had this reaction to any other yogurt or food. I have only had greek yogurt one other time, a different brand, and did not have this reaction, but within a week, both times with Chobani, I got sick.

        • I have also had severe reactions to Greek yogourt (Oikos) – terrible gas, nausea, diarrhea and sometimes violent vomiting. I thought that it was food poisoning, but just had another Oikos yogourt after going several months without and sadly (because I love this yogourt), must admit that I cannot tolerate it. I would really like to know what ingredient in Greek yogourt is causing this problem, which I don’t have with other yogurts, I am not aware of any allergy to antiobiotics, but do have other allergies – and I had food allergies as a child.

  15. Iam so loving this i was worried about the strawberry is so good.Ihave never wrote too a company i am addicted to this .Do you ever send out coupons? If so my adress is 4221 Tillson Rd Wilmington N.C. 28412 Ps I meant worried about Strawberry sugar amount i eat it everday!

  16. I eat Chobani everyday, and peach is actually one of my favorites. >;) The best, in my opinion, though, is Pomegranate. And I found Honey so bad I couldn’t finish it. All the others are great.

  17. I can’t believe all the people who LIKE this yogurt.
I tried this, becuase well who can’t benefit from healthy eating right?
    Ooh heavens was I wrong.
This stuff is nasty in a dish.
Bitter, very very very bitter, and the plain, to me, tastes like spoiled milk.
I TRIED making my own “fruited yogurt” by adding in some berries to the plain and mixing it in the bullet thing, and still, all three adults in my household couldn’t finish more then a mouthful.

Unfortunately, this just isn’t for everyone.

    • I agree! I wanted to like it but it was so gross. I bought the peach and it was like a bowl of sour milk, as if it was spoiled. I choked down one bite and thought I’d be sick.

    • I’ve wanted to try this yogurt for quite some time, and when it was on sale 10/$10 I decided to try the strawberry and peach, because they’re my favorite fruity-yogurts anyway. I decided to eat the peach first. When I opened it, I noticed that it looked very “dry.” I thought, okay – maybe it’ll be okay once I stir it..and it did look better, but when I tasted it – it was so paste-y that I nearly choked. I stirred it more hoping it’d get better and it did, but the same thing happened with the strawberry & the strawberry never got better. I just don’t think I can eat it anymore. More power to those of you who are able to stomach it. I just can’t & am slightly sad because I hoped it’d be amazing!

    • I agree! I tried honey yesterday, and although the first bite was pretty good…it was TOO much honey flavor for me. So today I tried vanilla ICK!!!! I thought it was spoiled! It seriously tasted like I took a spoonful of vanilla extract. I will not be buying this again–I love the Fage yogurt much better than this…

  18. I have the same problem as CL. Chobani yogurt gives me terrible stomach aches. I will have to go back to Activia, even though I liked having a yogurt with more protein and less sugar. Thank you for this blog, it is very helpful.

    • I wish I could eat this – I actually love the thick consistency and the health benefits, but my stomach cannot handle it. I don’t have this problem with other yogurts. It causes a lot of bloating and discomfort, nausea, even cramping. I’m afraid I can’t eat it either!

    • I’m so glad to know that I am not alone in this. Greek yogurt is so good but it gave me cramping and nausea (weird!) everytime I had it.

    • I would love to eat greek yogurt…but the only yogurt that does not hurt my stomach is activia…I cant tolerate any yogurt that is zero fat…

can anyone tell me why zero fat yogurt causes terrible stomach pain…and often dizziness from the acid in the stomach that it creates…

I can only eat the fatty kind….

  19. I was doing a search about this yogurt and found this site. The reason for the search, a horrible allegic reaction to the yogurt. I have a rash and it is BAD. It actually hurts. Another interesting thing, I have a very low tolerance for antibiotics, they make me very sick and I noticed others here with a bad reaction also have that problem. I miss go old dannon with fruit on the bottom. I am have to go back to the regular sugary water stuff that “yogurt” has become. Hope I don’t end up in the ER!

    • Kate can you tell me how long it took for the rash to calm down… ive had a dreadful rash since eating greek yogurt for the first time… i’m thinking this is what it’s from altho not long over an operation too and thought it might be a delayed reaction to the anaesthetic… doc put me on piriton it’s nearly 3 days now since i had the two bowls of yogurt and i look and feel dreadful my whole body apart from the lower part of my legs and arms are covered in it!

      • It took over a week to feel at least comfortable. It was weeks before it completely went away. I am so sorry for you Lorraine, an operation and a rash! Hope you feel better soon.

        • Thanks Kate, had a very uncomfortable scratchy sleep last night but my neck seems to have eased down this morning it doesn’t look as raw although the rest of my body is still the same…fingers crossed it gets better soon.. feeling like an outcast yuk!

  20. ME TOO! Been eating ALL yogurts for years–and tried Chobani nonfat unflavored and the stomach pains, gas, diarrhea are unbelievable. I AM NOT ALLERGIC to antibiotics. This made me think I had the flu–in bed sick for 24 hours. At first I didn’t know it was the Chobani, didn’t eat the day I was sick and had some again–same reaction–I’m in pain!

  21. Hi,

I have lived in Greece and know what authentic Greek yogurt should taste like. While I like Chobani, I noticed you forgot to list Locust Bean as an ingredient which is a thickener. I believe they add too much of that in the yogurt and it is probably makes the product cheaper to produce. The yogurt is just ok in my opinion. If I wanted filler, I could add granola on top!!!

  22. we recently started buying a case of 12 Chobani Greek Yogurt at Sam’s. Beforehand I thoought I would like the strawberry best but I LOVE the PEACH–the only other Peach dish I like is Peach Cobbler–love this yogurt. Wish I could find Chobani at more stores.

  23. I love chobani! I eat the vanilla and went to three stores yesterday because I could not find any!
If you have not tried it yet be ready to have a new favorite.

    • Laura, I am having trouble finding it too. The shelves of many grocery stores in the North Shore areas of Massachusetts have slim pickings of especially the large containers or vanilla and honey … my favs.

A clerk told me that the plant in down for some remodling and supplies will be low for a couple of months. Please tell me that is not so!!

Can anyone update me and anyone else in my area. I’ve stopped in many grocery chains in my area and am finding the same thing … slim pickings and empty shelf space where Chobani should be.

I love how the yogurt is non-fat and high in protein. It is also less calories than many Greek yogurts, but taste better.

  24. I LOVE Chobani Yogurt…all flavors!
Thick creamy and NOT TOO SWEET. Finally a decent yogurt on the market. I am so tired of the thin and overly sweet yogurts that plague the market. I am so happy to have this product available. Love the pineapple and pomegranate flavors the best.

  25. I one hundred percent agree. I heard such wonderful things about this yogurt…I made a huge mistake and bought the lemon flavor. TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. I forced myself to eat half a container, and now I’m hoping I don’t get sick! I thought it might actually be spoiled, but when I looked at the date it goes bad in JUNE! That is two months away from the date I bought it! Isn’t that a long time for a dairy product?

Activa is soooo yummy. Way better. The vanilla tastes like cake!

    • I love, love, love the lemon. It’s a matter of taste buds, I suppose. We’re all different. The only flavor I am not keen on is Honey.

  26. I just discovered Greek yogurt a couple weeks ago. I bought a couple single serve and had no reaction. I bought a large container of plain Chobani…..had three bowels of it over for days…that was two days ago…I started itchinright after the first bowl …but nothing really noticeable…it has gone into a full blown reaction….swollen throat tongue mouth weeps in ceases of arms and around neck and chest areas……went to dentist for my swollen mouth….he said he saw nothing really wrong but a little rednes…..just hit me this morning….it has to be the Chobani…the only new thing in my life …. Which sucks because I love it!!! I have an appointment with doctor tomorrow but have been getting worse today as the hours pass….. Going to try to get in this evening….I am uncomfortable and likely need some steroids…..and I jane no history of allergic reactions to food or antibiotics……Cheryl on Maryland

  27. Does any of the Chobani Yogurt contain any dies..e.g. red 40 etc? I reviewed your page and it looks like all natural stuff, no dies etc..but I am still curious..thanks jason

  28. I thought I’d leave a comment on this post since other people have been talking about some of the adverse reactions they have to chobani and I might have a tip that helps. I’m not lactose intolerant and I’ve only recently developed some allergies to antibiotics, but both chobani and another brand of greek yogurt called voskos give me horrible cramps and send me running to the restroom within an hour or two of eating them. However, I can eat Fage greek yogurt with no problem at all. I think it has fewer of the active cultures in it and a milder flavor and is maybe not quite as healthy as the others, but if you like greek yogurt (but not the reaction to it), you might want to give it a try (except for those of you who had to go to the ER!). And I swear, I don’t work for Fage, just thought I’d try to give some fellow yogurt eaters another option : )

    • I was surprised that it did not make me sick, as some dairy products can really upset my tummy. I eat this brand nearly every day and have no problems at all. The peach and apple cinnamon are my favorites. I too, also like Fage…especially the peach flavor. I am allergic to antiobiotics, so I’m surprised that I am not having the reaction that many others are having. I just LOVE this stuff…dont like the ones with processed sugar at all. If something smells bad…DONT eat it!! I too have had some that smelled bad…I just threw them out. Could be the store did not keep them stored properly.

  29. Pineapple is my absolute favorite. But I’m going to have to switch to plain as I’m trying to follow a low sugar plan. I had an incident with a spot of mold in my cup (which is understandable as they have no preservatives) and I emailed them and they returned my email in minutes (not an automated response from a computer) & they sent me out coupons for free yogurts which I received in 2 days! Also, another great thing is the protein content. As much as most protein shakes with more benefits. In my opinion, most people do not like it because they have become so accustomed to the sugary yogurt that occupies most of the dairy section– this is where it’s at 🙂

    • I agree, Lauren. I don’t like my yogurt to taste like a dessert – just my preference. I’m not sure how much sugar content is in the vanilla, but it is a little more palatable then plain. One of my favorites. I’ve made these yogurts a part of my health and weight loss plan. Although It just one part of m plan, the feedback I am getting from others is that I am looking good … and I feel good too. : )

  30. I too have had a horrible rash on both upper arms from eating Chobani brand yogurt. I am not lactose intolerant, and I have been eating Fage brand of Greek style yogurt for many years with no problems. It took me about 2 weeks to figure out what the adverse skin rash could be attributed to. The Chobani was the only food I had just started eating — I don’t really like this brand, too watery for me, so I won’t miss it at all.

  31. My daughter had a rash all over her body after eating Regular Chobani Lowfat Yogurt. She has a sensitive immune system. She was ok with Fage though. We loved the texture, but we are back to our Dannon.

  32. I was introduced to Chobani a couple of months ago and I love it, Actually I think I am addicted to it. I eat at least two cups a day. Sometime I leave the fruit at the bottom of the container to avoid the sugar associated with the fruit. I have tried the plain, it is OK but doesn’t taste the same as the fruit yogurt sans fruit. The suggestions about mixing fruit jam etc with the plain will be considered.

  33. I usually HATE yogurt…as in, it makes me gag! Someone told me that Chobani yogurt was different, so I gave it a try and I LOVE IT! I actually crave it now, and can’t wait to eat the next container! Fantastic!

  34. I used to eat Chobani all the time but I’ve had three bad cartons all in the past few weeks. So we are switching to Stonyfield – just to be safe.

  35. I just started eating Chobani. They were on sale at my local grocer so I bought several flavors. I love it! Mango and Pomegranate are my favorites but I also like the Lemon, Blueberry, Strawberry, Peach and Raspberry. Looking forward to trying Vanilla.

  36. Hello Everyone

I was eating another brand of Greek Yogurt and doing fine. Then my kids brought home Chobani Vanilla Yogurt and after five bites I almost ended up in the hospital. I swelled up and turned red and had problems breathing. The rest of the day was spent trying to reverse these symptoms along with headache and really bad stomach ache. Weak heart flutters and over all weakness. Now I am trying to figure out why.

    Lynn

  37. Hi All,
I am lactose intolerant and also allergic to penicillin but have no trouble with Chobani, My favorite is 0% and thank you so much for not putting sugar, fake sweeteners and high sodium in this. I question the 0% cholesterol though. I am on a low cholesterol, low sodium, low sugar diet and this product just seems too good to be true. I have never liked any yogurt in my life until now! I love it right out of the cup or I make awesome creamy veggie dips with it! Yum, I think I’ll go get some right now!!!
    Maryann

  38. Chobani was on sale at my local Kroger and I hadn’t had yogurt in a while so I bought some and loved it. I was used to the cheap house brand and when I scooped up a spoonful of the thick tasty product I was sold. Great way to start the morning! Two negs though. I don’t like the Pomegranate flavor (hate biting down on seeds), and I have been experiencing some short bouts of intestinal discomfort.

  39. Hi Chobani group…I heard about this yogurt from some friends at Weight Watchers and decided to try it. I too became addicted! I am lactose intolerant and as long as I take my dairy supplement before eating my Chobani, I don’t have any problems. I really LOVE the strawberry but mostly the blueberry…I can’t get enough. I sometimes think I am eating too much of it. I have tried other Greek yogurts and the only other one I liked was Fage but it is a smaller cup and costs more. I love that Chobani is on sale a lot and especially when it is 10 for $10. I feel so bad about all the people with the allergic reactions and hope they have it figured out…I too have some food allergies but fortunately Chobani is not one of them. I am happy to say that I was able to get my kids to eat yogurt because all three of them like the flavor of Chobani and they are all teenagers….how great is that? I love that it is non-fat and high in protein. Yes, love it!

  40. I just bought a case at Sam’s. The peach is not my favorite, but I do like the strawberry and blueberry.

While yogurt is not a food that everyone can eat I think that some people have unknown allergies. The live cultures may give some people problems at first but as your system adjusts you will find the gas and bloating should go away. Check with your doctor before eating and see what their suggestions are some people can just be sensitive to new foods.

Enjoy people. Those of us who like it, love it!!!! We will enjoy what you cannot.

  41. This is my first time trying Chobani. Went to a 7/11 to get something to eat and decided on something healthy. There were two choices of yogurt and I decided to get Chobani after comparing ingredients, calories, etc. I really like this yogurt. I’m not used to eating thick yogurt. Will def. be purchasing it again.

  42. I have never had any problems with my digestion and eat a very healthy diet, including all dairy products. I thought I would try the new Greek yogurt–thought I was on to something good–however, I have been terribly bloated/gassy for the last 24 hours, and I am going to have to stop eating it. I am wondering what is in it that makes me ill?

  43. One blueberry chobani last week and one strawberry today. Got a stomach ache and generalized upper body and arm pain/aching. Also some intestinal problems. I AM NOT allergic to dairy or antibiotics. And I can eat other yogurt with no problem. I would REALLY like to know what ingredient i am reacting to–so confusing!

  44. I love Greek yogurt. I think more than the flavor and texture, I love that it has 18 grams of protein! I enjoy it with different kinds of fruit and Stevia. I especially enjoy the yogurt with cherries or pears. Yummy. I only eat the non-fat. The others have too much sugar for me. I like Chobani but I especially like Fage!

  45. I’ve been eating Chobani for about a week and I LOVE it! I’ve tried different flavors and Blueberry is my favorite. Last night I tried the Mango for the first time. I started feeling very strange within about 5 mintues. I feel asleep about 20 minutes after I finished it and woke up about 45 mintutes later and my throat was swollen and all of my limbs were aching. I coud barely swallow and my stomach felt like it had a knot in it. I got up to go to bed and coughed a couple times realizing my throat was pretty raw at that point. After about 5 minutes I found myself in the bathroom vomiting, but nothing would come up. Like it was stuck. I was able to fall asleep and felt sick all through the night. I woke up this morning and my throat feels all swollen and my voice is very raspy.

I thought I may be losing my mind thinking it was the yogurt until I found this site. I have a possible allergic reaction to pencillian…so this would make some sense. Other than my reaction seems to have been different than others. My skin is very itchy right now but I dont have any rashes to speak of. Just thought I would share my experience with everyone. I love the stuff and want to try it again, but am scared to. Could it have just been something to do with the Mango?

    • Yes it could be the Mango. I found out recently that I am allergic to Mango. If you google mango allergies you will see that it has mango has Urushiol on its skin which is in the same family as poison oak. This is usually found on the skin of mangos but you never know if it gets into the fruit that they put into the yogurt.

  46. I stir in grape-nuts with all the flavors. I love it. I also stir in frozen rasperries w/grape nuts in the vanilla. It was a little tart for me, so I added a few banana bits and that was a perfect balance. I need the grapenuts for fiber and the probiotics given my lifelong digestive troubles. I’m 39 and feeling so much better!

  47. My Favorite Flavors:
    Apple Cinnamon (0%)
    Mango (2%)
    Blood Orange (0%)
    Peach (0%)

    My Least Favorite Flavors:
    Lemon (0%)
    Honey (0%)
Honey is by far the worst. It has a uniform flavor to it and is hard to down because of the overly sweet taste and texture.

Flavors I REALLY want to try:
    Passionfruit
    Raspberry

By the way, I think mixing your Chobani before you eat it is the WORST way to eat it. The two best ways, in my opinion, are either not using a spoon and sort of drink it or to use a spoon, not stir it, and dig straight down to the bottom.

  48. I just tried Chobani for the first time last week, and love it! I suffer from slight lactose intolerance, and would always experience gas whenever I ate regular yogurt (and many other dairy products like milk, cream cheese, and ice cream). So, I would only eat WholeSoy soy yogurt, and didn’t experience any gas. However, eating the soy yogurt never made me feel full.

When I moved from Oakland to Atlanta a couple of months, I found it difficult to find WholeSoy at a grocer close to my home. While I was in California I never paid attention to the different types of dairy yogurt, because I had found soy yogurt. In Atlanta, I stumbled across Greek yogurt during my searches for soy yogurt. I didn’t buy any right away, but did go online and did some research, and one very informative site provided some very good information about how Greek yogurt is made. One thing the writer said that stuck out was that Greek yogurt may not cause a negative reaction for those with mild lactose intolerance.

The very next day I went to Publix and bought some Vanilla flavored Chobani. When I got home I mixed it with some blackberries. The slight tartness of the yogurt reminded of the little “smack” that you get from key lime pie. There were two other things that I noticed right away. I felt full after one serving (I’d have to eat two soy yogurts to feel full), and I didn’t get one bit of gas! The following weekend I was at Costco, and bought the twelve pack that has Blueberry, Strawberry, and Peach flavors. They are delicious too, but I think they are a bit too sweet. I plan to buy a large tub of Plain flavored Chobani, and will mix it in with the flavored ones to lessen the sweetness.

I am so happy that I found Chobani. Kroeger has Fage on sale this week, and will try them out, too. If I like them too then that will be great. But if not, at least I will have Chobani. Oh my, I think I am going to have one right now.

  49. I discovered Chobani Greek Yogurt Back in Dec 2011. I loved it so much I was eating up to 3 sometimes 4 a day. Recently I’ve started having trouble breathing and feeling as if my throat is closing up and coughing usually 30 t0 45 minutes after consumption. I’ve even ended up in a couple ER to the intense breathing problem. I have been to numerous doctors to rule out any medical condition that could be the cause of my symptoms. So far they have found nothing. I have continued to eat Greek Yogurt until the ER asked me if there was a recent change in my diet and I finally realized my obsession with Greek Yogurt was a recent change in diet. I also am allergic to penicillin as well.
Has anyone had anything similar to me? The breathing symptoms have become debilitating.

  50. Thanks thought I was crazy! Only thing I added to my diet Chobani Greek Yogurt.Trying to eat healthier and left work I broke out in hives terrible stomach pains thanks to this blog Im not alone will not eat anymore. Thanks!!

  51. Chobani yogurt gave me pretty bad diarrhea which took about 6 hours to go away. I didn’t realize what the cause was, then the next day I had another Chobani and the same thing happened. I’ve had the same symptoms before from eating goat cheese. As far as I can tell from searching, Chobani is made with cow’s milk. It’s weird because I eat lots of other brands of yogurt with no problems, including ‘Greek’ yogurts. I’m sure it’s some allergy that I have, but I’m just posting to let people know you’re not alone with Chobani-specific issues.

  52. It sounds like a lot of people are getting allergic reactions. My guess is from the fact that it has live bacteria in it, so you’re probably allergic to one of those. On that note, it has nothing to do with a penicillin allergy – yogurt is a probiotic, giving you good bacteria, and penicillin is an antibiotic. It has no bacteria in it, but rather destroys bacteria.

  53. Haven’t been able to eat yogurt for years, due to gassy, bloated, crampy symptoms. It’s yucky nowadays, anyway. Not like what I think I recall from my youth.

Not lactose intolerant, supposedly, although any dairy products consumed after lunchtime-ish would cause the symptoms. No idea why. Then I discovered Chobani. No SYMPTOMS!!! No matter what time of day I eat it. And it tastes wonderful!

What I’m trying to find out is, what kind of milk is it made of? I’ve looked and looked all over the net (that’s how I found this thread) and cannot find a definitive answer. The reason I want to know is twofold: first, because it DOESN’T give me the symptoms that dairy products have been for years, and second, because ever since I was a kid, everytime I’ve encountered any product from sheep or goats, I have an intense nausea-gag reaction, completely uncontrollable and involuntary. I’m also extremely sensitive to the odor/flavor of sheep/goat products. I notice it in tiny, tiny amounts when others are unaware of it.

When I eat the Chobani Honey flavored yogurt, I could swear I taste a faint goat-y taste. The weird thing is, I actually didn’t mind the goatiness all that much the first few times I had it, but it made me wonder if it might be goat’s milk that made Greek yogurt “Greek”. I started asking around, but noone could tell me. I like the Honey flavor best nowadays, and oddly (unbelievably!) it’s because of that goat-y taste. I was even looking at goat cheese at Sam’s club the other day, wanting to try it and see if I can eat it now. Am I crazy to think I taste goat’s milk in the Honey Chobani?
Does anyone know for sure what milk it’s made from?

    • Its made from cow milk. The cows eat GMO feed 2-3 times a day. They do not graze grass in the fields. But the cows are not treated with rSBT growth hormone.

  54. I really don’t like yogurt at all. I tried this and it is significantly better (to my taste) than all the other yogurts but still doesn’t make me a yogurt fan. I tried the raspberry and there is a definite (perhaps citrus) after-taste. I won’t be buying it unless I am desperate and forgot to eat breakfast or bring a lunch to work.

  55. I do not have any food allergies, but experienced extreme stomach cramps after eating this yogurt. Definitely caution others to have a small amount to see their reaction. I had a container and thought a thunderstorm was starting in my belly.

  56. I started out with this great idea in mind that I would eat healthier than I normally do, so I ate Chobani Yogurt 3 mornings in a row. I ended up with diareah so bad, and it took weeks to get my stomach back where it was prior to the yogurt. It was the only change in my diet. It is crazy, but i am positive it was the Chobani yogurt. Maybe there is a bad strain of bacteria that grew in some of the batches.
I know if I go to the regular MD, he will roll his eyes at me, but I am pretty in tune with my body. I never had a problem with other yogurts. This was not my first time eating greek yogurt but I eat it rarely. I am afraid to try it again.

    • Can i ask people who got the bad reaction how long it took to calm down…. This has happened to me this week.. On Monday i took a pain difene tablet for a pulled muscle and i thought that the reaction had been from this… it dawned on me after that i had eaten greek yogurt for the first time Sunday night and broke out in a small rash… which then escalated as i had another bowl on Monday.. i went to the doc today and she has me on Piriton and also a cream to help with the rawest of the rash… Any more advice please?

    • I think the reason so many are having diarrhea with greek yogurt is the strength of the probiotic in it. I would like to know if anyone “got past” the diarrhea phase. One the battle is over between the yogurt and the “not so friendly” bacteria in your gut things should improve if you keep at it. Many have diarrhea for the same reason when starting probiotics.

  57. It says on the carton “Milk from cows not treated with rBST”

I don’t taste donkeys in there. Sometimes squirrel in the passionfruit, but never donkeys.

Chobani has made me love yogurt. Has anyone tried Siggi’s? It’s Icelandic yogurt made from a man in a tiny NY kitchen. It’s like eating cold cheese in the morning. Delicious! I like my yogurt so think that the metal spoon stands straight up on its own.

  58. I too have tried chobani greek yogurt in the plain variety. I have a very bad stomach ache and I have read here that others have experienced the same. I thought it was a stomach virus. Yes i do have an allergy to penicillin and certain antibiotics. I eat regular yogurt without any problems. I do like the texture but unfortunately it doesn’t like me back. So I’m back to regular yogurt.

  59. Oh My GOD! I love Chobani fruit flavored Greek yogurt and Vanilla Chocolate Chunk Champions! I have tried to like yogurt over the years and always hated it.. made me gag and resent others who would suggest it to me as a way to cut calories, etc. Then I was offered Chobani at a function and brought it home and stared at it in my fridge for a day and then was about to just toss it in the trash thinking “I’m gonna hate this one too so why bother” … then I decided to try it anyway… SO glad I did! I love it!

I was doing the OA thing, trying to completely cut out all sugar and it was driving me nuts… I was miserable and not doing well at all… I have eating issues and overate junk food for years, emotional eater since quitting drinking, smoking etc. So now, eating chobani even with the sugar added I’m not doing that and I’m fine with the sugar in the yogurts since I’m not eating any other added sugars in other foods… AND I have lost 10 pounds in a month so it works for me!

I’m also super allergic to things, penicilin, nickel, antibiotics, I have acid reflux, etc. and I have had no reaction to any flavors so far … strawberry, straw/banana, peach, mango, apple/cinn, raspberry… so I’m so glad I’m not someone who has an issue with it.. and feel for those who do.

Have to admit. I love it with the fruit stirred up into it!!!

  60. I never liked yogurt until I tried the Greek stuff. I’ve been eating Oikos which I love and just tried Chobani ( about 10 minutes ago) which I don’t like as much. I’ll buy Chobani if its on sale but I think Oikos is way better in taste and texture. Chobani is a litte too tart for me.

  61. I’M WONDERING IF THERE HAVE BEEN ALLERGIES RELATED TO THE CONSUMPTION OF GREEK NONFAT YOGURT SUCH AS SNEEZING AND WATERING OF THE EYES ?

  62. I love Chobani, eat it often and until this afternoon have never had any problem whatsover. About 30 minutes after eating my mid-afternoon snack, I suddenly became dizzy, weak and nauseous. After a half-hour in this state, I vomited the black cherries. With that the dizziness ended, but I remained so weak and disoriented that I had to ask my wife to come downtown to give me a ride home. Has anyone else had such a problem. especially in recnt days?

    • I started eating Chobani yogurt some months ago and this last batch (I bought 14) made me sick with stomach cramps and intestinal problems. I didn’t know what it was so I kept eating them. Stayed off a couple days and went back and same thing happened. The sell-by date was well in the future (9/23/12). The yogurt was also much more sour than usual (I was buying the pineapple flavor).

I Googled Chobani and saw the mold recalls last year and the huge OSHA fine in 2012 for 34 violations, so I’m thinking something is just not right in the manufacturing process. I’m not buying it again, ever.

I think a lot of the people who got sick from it in 2011 are probably allergic to mold.

I did buy a yogurt strainer and plan to start making my own thicker yogurt.

  63. Decided to try Chobani today for the first time, since we keep seeing and hearing all the hype. Plus, I have a good friend who acts as if this stuff is like, orgasmically amazing.

I tried the peach flavor, and I’m relieved that the review above noted the sharp/sour hint to the flavor. I thought it was just me (or just that I had happened upon a nasty product). I made it through about half of the cup before I couldn’t take any more. The texture was fine, but the yogurt had a tartness that bordered on sour. I love yogurt, and I love the normal tartness that comes with typical yogurts, but this was too much.

Hearing that other flavors may be better… I MIGHT try another Chobani someday… we’ll see 🙂

  64. I am also experiencing weird issues with this yogurt, or so I think. I make shakes that contain 1 Chobani yogurt, frozen blueberries, a little honey, half a banana, a dash of wheat grass powder, and a dash of Siberian ginseng.
Slightly after drinking the shake, I would lose all my energy, get bad aches around my solar plexus, and have light nausea. I cut out the shakes and it took about 3 or 4 days for my symptoms to slowly subside.
I have been symptom free for a few weeks now, so I decided to re-visit the shakes again and my symptoms are coming back. Judging by others reactions, it looks like I narrowed down the potential culprit! I think I’ll stay away from yogurt in general from now on!
Interesting enough, my wife said the Chobani yogurt is one of the few that does not upset her stomach… Huh…
I did go to the doctor about this and now I will experience the pleasure of going for an endoscopy (down the throat) at the end of this month. Good times, good times…

  65. I am also allergic to penecillin and have no trouble with Chobani. I eat it everyday for breakfast. Recently visited the new Chobani cafe in Soho, Manhatten (New York City). Wonderful concoctions! Go to chobanisoho.com for some great ideas to spruce up your Chobani plain.

  66. It makes no sense to take the fat out of something. There is a reason we need a balance,of fat, protein and carbs. This left,me hungry very shortly after eating. The 2% Fage, is wonderful!

  67. “Chobani and saw the mold recalls last year and the huge OSHA fine in 2012 for 34 violations, so I’m thinking something is just not right in the manufacturing process.”

OMG Barb I am highly allergic to mold. That must be the reason I broke out in that horrible rash last year. I didn’t see any of the information that you mentioned in your post, but thank you for giving everyone a heads up on this! I am off to look it up on the internet.

  68. WOW!! I’m SOOO stunned to read how many people are having stomach issues after eating Chobani Greek Yogurt! But I must say I am a bit relieved to hear they exist because the symptoms being described here seem to match up exactly with what I’ve been experiencing for weeks now! I’ve hopefully found out what is most likely the culprit of my discomfort because I will confess that I had started to Google some other illnesses & I was becoming fearful of having some rare form of stomach cancer! I know, I know I sound crazy to so quickly jump to such a dire illness but one of my most dear friends was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer a couple of weeks back. She still had and still has no symptoms of anything being wrong. The cancer was found when she went for her annual physical & her Liver Enzymes were a little high so her doctor ordered a few tests & now shes fighting for her life!

Anyway, my symptoms really sound very much like what is being described by so many of you that I’m thinking I’ve likely found the source. I guess the best way to prove that the yogurt is the source of the problem is to stop eating the Yogurt and see if the problem starts to improve. Can anyone give me an idea of how long it took for the severe bloating problems to dissipate after you stopped eating the yogurt? Keep in mind too that I have been consuming the yogurt in fairly large amounts. I’d buy the 0 fat plain Greek yogurt in the quart size and then divide a 0 fat fruit on the bottom single serving greek yogurt in half & then mix it with probably a cup or more of the plain yogurt. This way I could enjoy the sweetness of my favorite pineapple or blueberry yogurt but with much fewer calories and sugar while still getting the benefit of the high protein of the plain. I seriously ate the yogurt easily 3 times a day, maybe even more as it often became my breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack & sometimes I’d even have one as my dessert figuring it was better for me than chocolate or candy, etc.

I look forward to getting some feedback on my questions, especially regarding how long it took for the bloating, cramps and discomfort to finally go away, completely!!

Thanks so much & sorry for the probably too long post in advance!

    Terri

  69. I, too, started having very bad bloating and stomach aches earlier this summer. The only thing different in my diet? Chobani! I figured it out after going to the Dr for bloating and discomfort about 2 weeks ago. I was diagnosed with gastritis. I am now taking ulcer meds and have not had the yogurt for about 3 weeks. I did give up the Chobani about a week before seeking medical help, but the bloating and pain was so severe, i was pretty sure I had some dreaded disease. I admit, also, that I was eating the Chobani at least 3 ties per day. I really liked it. Never again.

  70. I have tried repeatedly to consume Chobani and Dannon Greek yogurts..I really love the Greek type yogurt. Each time I ate approximately 1/2-3/4 cup of Greek yogurt about 30 minutes later would have severe abdominal burning for about two hours. I really hate to give it up. Is there another brand that does not do this?

I am not allergic to dairy foods.

  71. Fage is the greek yogurt I eat at least twice a day with either fresh fruit or pineapple. Several months ago I noticed a rash on my scalp and face. Then later rash on my upper chest. I thought that was strange and systematically have attempted to use standard research techniques to find out what was causing it. I am a vegetarian, post polio person taking medication for my lungs and have always had trouble with penicillin and sulfa drugs. I have finally concluded that the continued rash may be directly related to greek yogurt, expressly Fago. I am now on sabbatical from eating it and will follow through to see if that helps. I will be very distressed if this is the problem. I love Fago.

  72. I’m glad I found this list.

I’ve been eating Chobani for breakfast with a granola bar for several months.
I’ve been have an allergic reaction as well. No stomach problems, but a numbness and swelling in my chin, lips, and extending outward. Thought that maybe it was something serious so I went to the doctor and got checked out, and was healthy otherwise. They gave me a steroid and antihistamine. I didn’t tie it back to the yogurt until just recently. If I take an otc antihistamine as soon as I feel it coming on, It subsides within an hour or so. The last time I was prescribed penicillin several years ago I did have a reaction.

It is odd because, it seems that I’ve only been noticeably affected about 20% of the time. I guess the concentration of active culture, or whatever ingredient that I’m allergic to, must vary from serving to serving.

  73. I’m very interested in the fact that so many people with antibiotic allergies are also allergic to this particular yogurt, and not others. I wonder why that is?

Reminds me of the Hygiene Hypothesis, which says that allergies, asthma, and other autoimmune diseases are caused by a lack of bacterial infection during infancy, creating an overactive immune system that has nothing to attack. So when those bacteria are introduced in yogurt, the immune system goes into overdrive because it’s not familiar with those strains? I wonder if these people ate this yogurt every day, if it would cure their allergies.

Penicillin is naturally produced by fungi to kill bacteria. Do you think there’s any in the yogurt?

  74. I was very excited when I found out that Chobani was available in the UK so I tried the plain fat free one and the cherry version. I had high hopes as I normally buy the Total yogurt from Fage but recently downgraded to the Tesco own brand due to the price. Obviously the tesco alternative is not great but more cost effective.. Chobani in the UK is priced inbetween so thought that it could be a happy middle should the taste be good. Well after trying a few of them, I can honestly say that it is not worth spending more, it’s actually not that good and Total is still way way better in my opinion with the highest content of protein. So going forward I will continue using the Tesco alternative and treating myself with Fage once in a while. Greek yogurts are the best yogurts but they are just so expensive here… 🙁

  75. Am I the only one that thought the plain version tasted and smelled like sour milk. I just couldn’t eat it. Does one’s tastebuds have to have the ability to taste and consume sour milk as if it were fresh milk in order to consume this yogurt?

  76. I am doubled over in pain right now and came to this site trying to figure out what I ate that did this to my stomach. Like always, I ate eggs for breakfast with a bagel and just today, ate one spoonful of my mothers Chobani yogurt. Two hours later, I’m in ridiculous pain – almost went to the hospital. It’s not 6 hours later and I’m still in a ton of discomfort – stomach is not doing well.

Be careful with this yogurt. Seriously. I am not lactose intolerant – I eat cereal often and eat regular yogurt daily (had never tried Greek hence the reason I tried it this morning). I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream last weekend. I’ve never had any allergic reaction to ANY food, or medication. I’m shocked at how dangerous this stuff is. I can’t imagine what is be feeling if I had a whole bowl full (I actually think Chobani is quite gross – it’s so pasty).

  77. Yes, David, I had similar reaction. My stomach gurgled and churned and also rejected the yogurt. I believe there is a segment of the population that is not meant for lots of fiber and live probiotic type stuff.

  78. I love this Greek yogurt — but I can’t eat it because of the instant sharp pains in my stomach. I can’t eat any Greek yogurts without the pain. I am however able to eat frozen Greek yogurt (Ben and Jerry’s) with no problem.

  79. My absolute favorite yogurt is the Pineapple Chobani! I like to stir in a little Splenda w/fiber and sprinkle the top with sliced almonds!!! Sometimes add a little low fat honey granola. Only problem is after I eat it, within a couple of minutes I get terribly nauseous and it like that for 1-2 hours. Why? :-/. The pineapple yogurt tastes like pineapple sherbet! That is the bomb. I just don’t want to be sick… 🙁

  80. Folks,

some of you are absolutely funny, you want less sugar hench why you go for plain then you add a crap load of sugar, like real fruit , granola …. just buy the one with the fruit it will have the same sugar as adding fresh fruit. get a grip and do your homework .

  81. I recently tried Chobani for the first time, and I have had an allergic reaction for 48 hours. I kept feeling super bloated, and had bouts of nausea for 2 days. I also had a headache that wasn’t relived with Tylenol for those 2 days. I thought maybe I was getting the stomach flu or something, but I noticed for the past two days my fingers and toes have felt a little numb, and the back of my throat has been scratchy. I thought about maybe it was the yogurt, because it was the only thing new to my diet, and sure enough there is a lot of blogs saying people have had allergic reactions to Chobani. I too am allergic to Penicillin, and am allergic to mold. I am wondering if there is microscopic mold getting into this yogurt? My yogurt was not expired and I did not see any visible mold, but agree with an above poster that there shouldn’t be any antibiotics in the yogurt, so being allergic to antibiotics should be irrelevant, right?? I am posting on here to say I too had an allergic reaction to Chobani. I also am on here to ask if anyone has had any allergic reactions to other brands like Fage or the Dannon’s organic? I haven’t been able to find people complaining about allergies with other Greek yogurts, only Chobani. That was the first time I tried Greek yogurt and would like to try again, but I’m worried about getting sick.

  82. I just purchased Chobani champions for my kids the banana honey flavor and my kids didnt like the flavor when I tasted half of spoon full, I felt a wierd after taste kind of like vomit to me i gave it another try but i just had to throw it away before I actually did vomit… I also tried the berry flavor for kids, it wasnt as bad but the after taste was still kind of bitter me.

  83. How strange. I think Chobani is great! I used to get major cramping and abdominal pain and I couldn’t figure out the cause. I thought it was my protein shake so I eliminated it. Then I still had it so I eliminated broccoli and I still had it so I stopped eating the Chobani yogurt and it went away. I read some other reveiws and its interesting because I too am allergic to penicillin.
I still recommend the product but I can’t eat it without having major cramping.
    Jessica

  84. I have tasted tons of yogurt n chobani is the greatest. My problem is I’m eating 3 to 4 a day. I put a little granola in it . I’ve been cycling 21miles a week n watching what I eat n I’ve lost 48 lbs. I think the chobani Has helped in between meals .

  85. I am NOT sensitive to any foods, dairy, or other. I tried my first Chobani and within hours was too experiencing extreme nausea, stomach and intestinal pains, cramping, diarrhea, and have suffered for 2 full days now. A friend gave me a Zantac tablet and ginger ale tonight which seemed to calm my system for a few hours but I can feel the gurgling coming back and after reading other testimonies think it might be a few more days until im back to normal. Those cultures are no joke. I feel like there should be a warning on the label! 🙁 Never again.

  86. I’m wondering if you can be allergic to the yougurt? I have just started to eat the strawberry one and I have started to itch. It is great tasting and I really like it. Had to take a benadrill awhile ago that’s why I am asking if you can be allergic. Maybe I have been eating to much at a time. Please let me know.

  87. Add me to the horrible intestinal reaction to greek yogurt! Massive amounts of D, I think it had to do with the type of active cultures as I do not usually have issues with dairy.

  88. I love this stuff especially the passionfruit 2%. I have been eating a tub of this stuff daily and have never had stomach problems. But then I have can only recall having 2or 3 stomach upsets in my adult life . Think I’ve had a good immune system thanks to my parents letting me eat all the dirt when I was a kid. I also do not stir as this spoils the texture

  89. I too like many on this blog have been trying to eat healthier and have been slowly changing my diet. I added 1 Chobani into my diet daily shortly after New Years, and have been experiencing strange allergy type problems in my mouth and tongue, as well as extreme itchiness and dull aches in my chest and arms ever since. Two days ago I ate a black berry one and immediately got a large red bump on the inside of my cheek. This happened a month or so ago after eating a mango one, but I just figured it was the acidity of the fruit. But this time I figured it was the yogurt, so I did a google search on Greek yogurt allergies and found this. Needless to say, I’m done eating Chobani, and am now afraid to even try a different brand. Thanks everyone for posting on here and thus helping me to feel better about what’s going on. I guess I’ll just try and eat more non-acidic fruits, nuts, and veggies for snacks.

  90. I’m sitting here eating a strawberry one right now. I kinda have a question tho.. I have become addicted to the strawberry with granola mixed in. I probably eat 4-5 per day. Is that ok and is it helping me loose weight? It’s almost like I don’t eat any other foods anymore.. Should I be concerned? I just love the taste so much. And.. summer is about here and having this on hot days will be wonderful.. Thanks all

  91. Chobani is great tasting yogurt… but it does not agree with me. I finally discovered that Chobani is the culprit in my stomach RUMBLING, excess gas and diarrhea. It also causes stomache ache and inflammation in my stomach lining. I wish I could eat it, but I will have to stay away from it in the future.

  92. I started eating Greek yogurt for lunch at work and noticed that I get a tightness in my throat after eating. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs but wouldn’t think that would have anything in common with yogurt. After reading everyone else’s comment though, I am convinced that something in Greek yogurt bothers me.

    • isn’t it crazy that they seem to be connected? my throat feels tight with kefir, too. does anyone else that this is happening to have any allergy to just milk? i’ve been afraid to drink it now…

  93. OMG…got so sick last night from the Vanilla Chobani. I was at work and was walking the halls monitoring classes and became dizzy, then nauseous….the night just went downhill from there. This morning, I feel weak and my stomach is gurgling. Should I go to the doctor or is there something over-the-counter I can take. Don’t really feel like going anywhere!

By the way, I’ve never had allergies, been lactose-intolerant or had problems with any other yogurts. Eat Fage, Oikos, Yoplait, Brown Cow, etc. Called in sick today and felt like a complete nut saying YOGURT made me I’ll. WITW

  94. I really like the taste of Chobani Yogurt. I have high potassium and have to watch my intake. Potassium isn’t listed on the label, but when I checked further I see it is. So what do I believe? I like Chobani because of the taste and no cholesterol….Pineapple is my absolute favorite…

  95. Thanks for this review! I am curious, when you tried the peach, did it almost taste like the yogurt was lightly spoiled at first?

I bought a variety case from Costco the other day and went to try the peach for the first time just now. Smelled fine, looked fine and is way before expiration but it almost tasted like it was spoiled. Something seemed off. After like 3 bites I didn’t taste it anymore. I opened the blueberry one to give it a taste just in case to see if maybe the whole case went bad if it was left out or something at the store but the blueberry tasted fine. Honestly if I started with the blueberry I wouldn’t have thought twice..now I’m even second guessing the blueberry simply because it was in the same case as the peach. Since peach is such a strong flavor and I’ve never tried it before now I just don’t know. So would you say the peach almost had like a spoiled taste to it when you first tried it?

  96. Had horrible abdominal pain after ingesting the greek yogurt. Doubled over with excruciating gas …feeling like it was trapped & couldn’t be released. Heart palpitations were also happening & very scary. I was eating it for days before the overwhelming sickness started. Feeling fatigued & exhausted was the first sign, next day my bowel felt like a pump was inside it inflating it to no end. Took me some time to figure out the yogurt was the culprit so I won’t be eating it any more. I can eat regular yogurt & have before with no trouble. Have also taken acidophilus with no trouble …this greek yogurt however pushed me over the edge.

  97. I think Chobani has a new supplier or factory and has poor quality control.

We read about the health benefits of greek yogurt over regular yogurt and switched to Chobani Vanilla Non-Fat in the 32 oz size several months ago. We spoon 6 ounces into a bowl and add 1/4 cup of granola and a 1/4 cup of berries for a delicious breakfast.

The expiration date has always been shown at the lower edge of the container. Recently we noticed the expiration date now appears on the lid. The yogurt in the container with the expiration date on the lid is thin and runny compared to what we are used to from Chobani. We bought three containers and they were all thin and runny. The other day we went to the store and bought more Vanilla Non-fat, but were careful to buy the carton with the expiration date at the lower edge. The yogurt in that carton is what we are used to from Chobani, thicker and creamier.

We will try other other brands, but we do like the original Chobani and hope this is a problem they can fix and not a change to their product line.

  98. I have added Greek Yogurt to my meals as a protein substitute. It helps because I am a vegetarian. My concern, though, is the high sugar content. I try to avoid sugar as much as possible. I am not diabetic but a sugar-free diet helps me maintain a healthy weight.

Do you have insights on the high sugar content?

  99. I bought the Costco case last week that comes with strawberry, blueberry, and peach. The strawberry is GREAT! The peach, however, just smells and tastes like soured milk to me. I’ve even given a second cup of it a chance, and it’s the same! I thought I was crazy, but I’m happy to see that other people have found the same issue!

  100. I have extremely bad stomach cramps after eating one chobani. I do not have the same reaction to the Oikos plain greek yogurt I use every morning in my smoothies. I also have a sulfa allergy. Stay away from this stuff! So glad a blog is here so I know I’m not totally crazy.

    • Interesting people are experiencing problems with Chobani. I have weird skin issues and stomach probs and am now wondering if it’s Chobani related. I’ve had GERD for a couple years and stopped meds and naturally got it under control but Chobani makes it act up. Chobani uses GMO feed for their cows but not rBST treated cows. Irontically, Danon most likely uses both. You’d think we’d be having reactions from their yogurt. I am wondering if the probiotics in the Chobani are like at war with bad gut flora in our stomachs and is trying to balance things out?

  101. I have been through a horrific year of bad rashes, swollen face and eyes, and scalp eczema and itching so bad much of my hair has fallen (or been scratched) out. I am allergic to Bactrim and sulfa drugs. I never would have tied it to starting to eat 2 (or more) Chobani yogurts a day, until I found this thread. I’ve been to my primary physician, a dermatologist, two allergists, and now an immunologist, and they have put me through several allergy patch tests, bloodwork, etc. with no idea what is going on. I spent $$$ and I’m having more bloodwork done today. I will mention this at my next appointment, and I’m taking the big tub of Chobani OUT of my lunch box right now!

  102. Wow! Glad I found this website. Tried Chobani Greek yogurt with banana last Tuesday. within a couple of hours I was doubled over with cramps and diarrhea. I am allergic to Penicillin. Full body sweats all night. Never had a problem with yogurt until I tried Chobani. Glad I have an answer.

  103. Try this one;
Chobani plain yogurt with diced cucumbers, dried/fresh(chopped) mints and raisins. Let me know what you think! It’s so refreshing and cool in summer, I love it!!

  104. Chobani uses dairy from cows who eat GMO feed. They don’t use rBST treated cows, however. I get heartburn when I eat only Chobani yogurt, Very strange.

  105. Thanks so much for writing this article – several years ago! I was looking to see what the taste of the plain was like – I have 2 large containers and it tastes pretty tart…or at least enough that I questioned the freshness. Now I know! I have a tub of blueberries and lunch it is.

I have tried peach, strawberry, blueberry, all fruits at the bottom of the container, and then the creamy strawberry and peach. All excellent tho the blueberries had that skin that didn’t want to be chewed!

I have also tried the “new” (all of this is new to me!) flavor with carob and nuts in a side pocket. Not worth the extra money, for sure.

I have started using this yogurt instead of sour cream – yeah!!!! So many great ideas on how to use this differently – haven’t read all the posts but that frozen lemon yogurt sounds like the bomb!

BTW, it is interesting that someone said they had problems with unbearable gas. I always had gas problems when I ate REGULAR yogurt, so I was very hesitant about the greek…. but I’m not any longer with the Greek yogurt. Hmm. Well, I’m not going to complain.

  106. I have sat here reading this in disbelief. Yoghurt is often full of fat, which is bad for you, lactose which is bad for you and sugar which is very bad for you. So stop kidding yourself this is a healthy food. Eat it in moderation but be honest with yourself, it is a treat, a luxury, not something which is part of a sane person’s every day or essential diet!
Unless the cows used were free range and organic of course there will be anti biotics and goodness knows what in there as it has been put into the cow and gone into their milk and then into the yoghurt. The only way you can avoid that is to get live organic yoghurt and the best is with no sugar or fruit as fruit contains sugar too. If you were to eat this every day you would probably end up putting on weight – which is bad for you – and or getting candida – which is awful.

    • Carmel, I read this entry awhile ago (when you wrote it) and got involved in something else so never responded. Yogurt may be full of fat, but it is also full of protein, and that is what I need more of in my diet. And I’m completely sane! While we all differ on our views of what is healthy (heck, just look at all the books and charts out there), I’m not yet into the free range stuff. Maybe I should be but I don’t have a good source for it. And sugar and fat and all that bad stuff (accd to you) is going to be part of my diet for the rest of my life – so it is what it is. I’m 56 and I’m not going to go all crazy with my eating habits at this point, especially since I’m healthy, all blood work is great, etc.

Hell, everything is bad for you (your first sentence) and I’m not going to stop eating!! Sorry you had to read this with such disbelief but your way of thinking is Yours. More power to you, and to me, and to all for at least being aware of what we eat, and making decisions for ourselves.

    • We don’t even have this yoghurt in the UK, just as well as from what most of you are saying I might die eating it.. or at least end up in hospital. LOL.

By all means eat a lot of unhealthy junk, I often do, but we are what we eat. I love food, and because I like or love a lot of foods that are considered unhealthy I try to eat more of the other stuff and less of the unhealthy stuff, but it can sometimes be a struggle, like trying to give smoking if you are addicted to nicotine.

If protein is what you seek there are lots of ways of getting it other than yoghurt and without sugar with it.

Eat live yoghurt twice every day and it improves your memory and concentration – give it a month.

I make my own, so simple and easy.

  107. The healthy part of this is the five biotics. But I wonder how many of you know that unless you eat a PREBIOTIC just before or with it it just goes right through you without helping you at all?! You can have a small piece of onion or some banana just before for this to work. If you want to use this yoghurt to your advantage and it is about health rather than taste or fun then get one of these yoghurts – the plain one probably is better.
Then get a large tupperware type tub. Put the chobani yoghurt in there together with
approximately 1 and a half to 2 pints of ORGANIC MILK which you have brought to the boil and then allowed to cool down so that you can put your finger in- preferably goats or soya. Never use rice milk as it separates. Mix it about put the lid on wrap it and cover it with a towel and leave somewhere for 10 -14 hours and you will have a whole batch of yoghurt with these five biotics in it. Because YOU ill have multiplied it and improved it.

Remember there are loads of different biotics which all affect and help the body in different ways. This only contains five which is a drop in the ocean.

Studies have shown that if you eat live yoghurt TWICE A DAY FOR A MONTH it improves your concentration and memory and alertness. I could explain how come but would need another thousand words.

  108. I too got an allergic reaction to Chobani yogurt. It tastes great going in but then I felt like my throat was tight and had trouble swallowing. Tongue was also getting numb. I am very allergic to msg or free glutamates added in food. Looked at the label and sure enough- there it was “natural flavors” aka free glutamates or MSG. The itchy skin on face, arms and legs and some numbness in arms, fingers, followed. Note that the Chobani labels now look different than many noted above that just used to say peaches, sugar, etc as ingredients. Apparently they needed to spike up the flavor without adding more expensive fruit to the mix. This is common. Whenever you have reactions like mine to ck the label for the key words: natural flavors. Take a benadryl and an Alka Seltzer Gold (without aspirin) and the effects should subside. Not eating this brand again.

  109. I used to love chobani pineapple yogurt soooooooo much. I would get all they had on the shelf. If it was 5 or 20, I would get it all. It was so good. But for some dumb reason they decided to change the receipt , why would you mess with perfect? It was perfect, before you changed it. I use to have a hard time finding it because it tasted so good and now nobody wants it anymore. There’s always lots on the counter. It taste sour and there’s too much pineapple in it. It is awful!!!!!!! I don’t understand why you people always change a product when it is selling good and everyone loves it , you try to make it better. Leave it alone!!!!!!! When it sells great that means it is perfect and you can’t improve perfect!!!!!!! Gail

  110. If you are having stomach cramps and such and you say you’re allergic to penicillin that is not a “true allergy”. A true penicillin allergy results in anaphylaxis. For example, if I ate something like bleu cheese or another food item with penicillin in it I would experience a rash and shortness of breath leading to my airways becoming swollen and death if not treated right away with an EpiPen and/or a hospital. If you’re having stomach problems from it talk to your doctor or a dietitian.

  111. I have had two packages of yogurt now where the “rip off top” had puffed up. Is it spoiled? Is it fermenting? is it safe to eat? the expiration on the container is 25 days from now. When i took the top off pressure was “released”

Please letme know if there is a root cause for this – or any other concerns – I did not consume it of course – .

    thanks!

    • Am I missing something? Carmel, the website you mentioned is about mental health!?!

Also, would you give us your homemade yogurt recipe?

  112. Hi there. The website is about all aspects of health.

    THE YOGHURT RECIPE

You need a pot of normal fat LIVE yoghurt – no fruit added. Organic is better..
You also need a saucepan and a pint of milk – this can be cows’ or soya but rice milk does not work.

Boil the milk in the saucepan, then turn off the heat. When it has cooled down so it forms a skin over it and is still vey warm but touchable mix the two together.
Pour this into a tupperware type container or used yoghurt pots that have a lid.
Put this onto the top of your fridge or some other place where it will not be disturbed.
Wrap in towels to keep as much of the heat in as possible. Not necessary when the temperature is hot, but very necessary in winter. Leave for about 12 hours.

NOTE – mixing in a little honey or sugar first before you leave it to set seems to help it to set quicker and better.
This will then be live yoghurt.

  113. Recall or Not…After carefully checking ALL my Chobani yogurt, I still continue to have an afternoon snack everyday! Me and my fiancé are so hooked on this yogurt we have to run to the store as soon as we run out. Luckily our local store usually has 10 for $10 and sometimes 4 for $5 so we try and stock up. I like the flavors that were discusses. HOWEVER, our favorites are:

Mango (we both fight over the last one!)
    Black Cherry (my fiancé’s favorite)
    Apple Cinnamon (my personal favorite)
    Pineapple

I think the people at our local grocery store think that we definitely have an addiction to this Greek Yogurt!

  114. I used to love Chobani until I heard it was laddened with GMO’s. Switched to Fage which is as close as you can get to the real stuff.

  115. Hi there, this weekend is fastidious designed for me,
for the reason that this moment i am reading this impressive informative piece of writing here at my residence.

  116. Not only do I eat Chobani, but I also feed it to my English Springer Spaniel, Emma.
I give her one tablespoon every morning with her breakfast, plus she likes to like the empty
carton. That is a special treat for her!

  117. I love this yogurt, i put it on everything fruits, jello, chili, tacos, desserts. Its just the right amount of sweetness and I never feel guilty if i eat a little more than a serving. I have issues from a car accident and it settles my stomach when I feel nauseated.

  118. I have always hated yogurt as a child. But since I tried chobani I’ve been hooked. I cant get enough. I always recommend it to people. The mango is by far the best. Seems like there is hardly any syrup, just mango pieces and plain yogurt. Perfect combo.
    yummmmmmm.

  119. Hello, i feel that i noticced you visited my weblog thus
i came to return the prefer?.I am trying to find issues to enhance my wweb
site!I suhppose its ok to use a few of your concepts!!

  120. I just tried this yogurt for the frist time , was getting Coburn farms from save a lot love it but was looking to try a new one, so chobani, but it was 1/2 full WHY, my other was full to the top, I payed more and got less. 1.00 for yours and and my old was 2 for 1.00. why is chobani not full, get less for more, you just takeing people that can’t see this,or don’t know about COBURN FARMS, see i’am a cashier and I do talk, NOT HAPPY AT ALL

  121. I realize there are probably no dr.s on this forum,..regardless – i too am having significant issues since trying at age 48 to change up my diet by eating less fat – more protein and increasing my water consumption,..part of that change was to incorporate 2 containers of ( because it was the kind everyone else seemed to be eating ),..greek yogurt. ( Specifically Chobani – the first week and then store brands thereafter ) After a week,..( No intolerance’s or allergies my whole life ),.. i began RUNNING to the bathroom for watery diarrhea ! Up to 6 times a day ! I too felt and thought i may have some terrible illness or cancer,..then i realized this was to coincidental,..( New diet – High protein – Introducing Yogurt to my system for the first time ever ),..I was still consuming the yogurt during the week of having diarrhea,..not realizing yet the connection,..( I Hope ),..stopped eating the yogurt which decreased the Urgency,..but my problem Now is that the diarrhea has NOT stopped,..rarely uncontrollable and much less urgent,..but i have yet to experience a solid movement – and i have not had a yogurt in 6 days. the one thing everyone on here is not being detailed about is ” How long did this continue ?” I have NO other symptoms – other than a slight weight decrease ( which would be expected),..but i can’t understand why it is not going away. I’ve NEVER had an issue like this before,…and again,..It’s too coincidental with the diet change and the addition of yogurt, to be being caused by anything else logically. Can anyone relate or comment ?

  122. Tried this yogurt for the first time this week. I’ve had peach and blueberry so far. Love both!!! I’ve been struggling trying to find something quick and healthy to eat for breakfast. This yogurt offers a big portion and I’ve been using low fat graham crackers to dip with. SO yummy and filling! I’m thinking with the variety of flavors that are offered, I won’t grow bored. I tried eating oatmeal and just about threw up. I can’t stand the texture. So I’m glad I found this and I love it!!! Can’t wait to try all the other flavors!!!!

  123. The only one I’ve tasted was the strawberry banana and I dread it! My husband ended up buying a 6 pack which I will never finish. It’s just so bland and I don’t know if it’s just that certain flavor being I haven’t tried any other flavor. I’d like to try the honey/vanilla one. But strawberry banana wasn’t to my liking. I love the probiotics it has in it due to me having stomach issues and what not. So I will continue to try other flavors. Yogurt seems to relieve my nausea in the mornings. Which one was your favorite?

  124. I ate chobani peach yogurt this morning – my throat started burning and I threw up a half hour later. It scared me…so I am so happy to know this seems to be somewhat common and not some major health issue. Noosa is different – the best yoghurt I’ve ever had and does not make me puke or hurt my throat.

  125. I think extra protein is great, but I am seriously dismayed by the GMO laden feed. So many people are getting reactions. Plus if you are allergic to antibiotics, WEB MD indicates not to eat yogurt. There are 2 other drugs that cause a moderate interaction with yogurt, who knew?

  126. It seems I have this allergy also. I love the yogurt and have been eating about 1/2 c of the plain with added fruit and honey almost every day for a few months. However–no more! (And there are several new-bought containers in the frig.) Terrible stomach ache (like too many situps), bloating, diarrhea, spiking fever. Joints that were injured many years ago are swollen and sore. I am also allergic to sulfa drugs. It cost me a bundle in medical bills to figure this out.
