Honey Kix: Kid Tested, Bender Approved!
I recently received a coupon from Kelly for a free box of the new Honey Kix cereal. I was really excited to try it because I used to love Kix as a kid, but it’s been a while!
Honey Kix contains 16 grams of whole grains per serving (which, by the way, is a generous 120 calories per 1 1/4 cup!) and only 6g of sugar. It also has no artificial flavors or preservatives and 3g of fiber, plus calcium and vitamin D. Basically, it’s a great choice as far as big-name cereal brands go!
I made myself a big bowl with some unsweetened vanilla almond milk for a snack yesterday afternoon. Let me just preface this review by saying that when it comes to honey-flavored products, I am very picky! I don’t like the taste of honey by itself, so it really has to be the right combination of flavors for me to like a product that has “honey” in the title.
That said, I absolutely loved this cereal! It was just the right amount of sweet + crunch. At the same time, it was very airy and light, which was perfect for a snack option. If you’re looking to use it as a breakfast option, I would suggest adding some fruit or a side item for a bit more bulk. Overall, I am very impressed with this new version of Kix and would definitely buy it again!
