A to Z.

You may have seen Janetha’s survey circulating around the blogosphere. It’s very creative and I thought it would be a fun one to fill out, so here goes!

A is for age: 24, but I will be turning 25 in May. Hard to believe it has been nearly three years since I graduated from college. And yes, I have definitely had my fair share of the quarter-life crisis.

B is for breakfast today: A delicious bowl of steel-cut oats with banana and peanut butter.

C is for currently craving: Every night I crave sugar and sweets in any form. It never fails. My current obsession are these Yummy Earth lollipops because they indulge my craving without having to resort to Swedish Fish, Twizzlers, Jelly Beans…you get the idea.

D is for dinner tonight: The truth? A bowl of cereal and cheese with crackers. Yes, that right there is the reason why I am no longer a daily food blogger. Weeknights are my cooking nemesis.

E is for favorite type of exercise: Eighteen glorious holes of golf. “E”specially in Arizona.

F is for an irrational fear: Oh my, I have way too many of these. Spiders are high on the list, along with take off and turbulence on airplanes. I suppose I should add in landing after a particularly rough flight to New York. Do I have to call that a fear of flying now?

G is for gross food: Liver. Don’t even try to tell me otherwise. No. Just no.

H is for hometown: Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Technically I was born in Lake Forest, Illinois and lived in Glencoe (just north of Chicago) until I was two and a half. We then moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina until I was six, and then to Minnesota. But since ages six through eighteen were my “formative” years, I’ll always call Eden Prairie my hometown.

I is for something important: My family (with three important additions not pictured).

J is for current favorite jam: Mixed Berry Conserve by Whole Foods. Oh, you meant music? πŸ˜‰ In that case, I’d have to go with this Fun.’s “We Are Young” (the Glee version is awesome, too).

K is for kids: No little ones in this household yet, but there are four very special kids in my life: my cousin Morgan and my nieces Claire, Caroline and Kelly.

L is for current location: Chicago – more specifically, on my living room couch.

M is for the most recent way you spent money: Whole Paycheck.

N is for something you need: More time. Do you have any to spare? I can’t guarantee that if you loan it to me, you’ll get it back. In fact, I can guarantee you won’t!

O is for occupation: Self-employed entrepreneur, freelance writer and hopeful author.

P is for pet peeve: I have to agree with Erica on this one: people who are always negative. I am an eternal optimist by nature and love encouraging others, don’t get me wrong, but when someone refuses to see the bright side it can be exhausting for everyone around them – including themselves. I’m all for living glass half full. As an additional food for thought (pun intended), I also don’t enjoy loud chewing. Bobby = loud chewer. He knows it, too. πŸ™‚

Q is for a quote: Too many favorites to list, but one that has particularly stuck with me lately is, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are,” from E. E. Cummings.

R is for random fact about you: I can’t fall asleep unless I’m on my left side.

S is for favorite healthy snack: Apple and almond butter, or pretty much any other fruit (see sweet tooth answer for “C”).

T is for favorite treat: It should come as no surprise: CANDY. The sweeter the better.

U is for something that makes you unique: My given name. Beyond anyone who is related to me in some way, I have yet to meet another “Korducki” and don’t anticipate that changing (unless someone out there would like to enlighten me).

V is for favorite vegetable: That’s a tough one. I’d probably have to go with bell peppers.

W is for today’s workout: Two-mile run outside followed by a combined arm/leg strength training session. I’m getting better at strength training, which was one of my 2012 goals.

X is for X-rays you’ve had: Teeth and pelvic area (back when I had really bad tummy troubles). I’ve been fortunate to never have broken a bone (knock on wood).

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Hanging out with my hubby.

Z is for your time zone: Central Standard. Also known as the Best Standard. πŸ˜‰

Now it’s your turn! Copy Janetha’s template and post to your own blog.

Before you do that, though, I’d love for you to pick the letters of your initials (all three, if you’d like) and leave your answers in the comments.

Abrazos,

  1. What a great wedding photo of your family! Everyone looks so happy. πŸ™‚

*C is for currently craving: a roasted stuffed pepper…so I’m making them for dinner tonight!
*R is for random fact about you: I can hyperextend my elbows (which makes chatarunga push-ups incredibly hard for me)!
*L is for location: Green Bay, Wisconsin

    • It is definitely one of my favorites from that day! πŸ™‚

Hurray for roasted stuffed peppers! That is so crazy about your elbows, but I think my favorite fact was “L” because I’m assuming that means you are a fellow Packers fan! Am I right??

      • Ha ha, I’ve lived within 30 minutes of Green Bay my whole life save for four months when I lived in Illinois. It was a sin to even bring up the Packers. Although I’m not a huge football fan, they’re the only team I watch! (And we almost went all the way this year…too bad).

        • Haha – I know the feeling when I wear my Packers hat in Chicago. πŸ™‚ I was definitely bummed this year, but hopeful for another chance next season!

  2. Yayyy! I loved reading yours. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of real jam/jelly instead of music :). Negative people stink.

    • Haha! It was literally the first thing that came to mind, so I couldn’t help but include it, too. πŸ™‚

  3. fun! I have to be on my left side to fall asleep, too – and i’ve never broken a bone, either!

B, breakfast today: fresh apple/orange/grapefruit/pineapple juice, hot tea, and eggs.
M, most recent way I spent money: gifts for my nephew and groceries
    E, favorite exercise: hiking

  4. Have you been able to listen to the album that We Are Young is on? It is incredible! Especially the song it’s named for, Some Nights. I highly recommend :).

    • Ooh – thank you! I haven’t listened to the album itself yet but am definitely going to now! πŸ™‚

    • It’s one of my favorite AZ pictures of all time! And you’re right about the spiders. I guess in my head I was just thinking the tiny ones on the wall that *still* find ways to make me scream might be slightly irrational, haha. πŸ™‚

  5. Cute post!
C: Currently craving dried fruit…I can’t seem to get enough dates, cranberries, and raisins these days.
W: Today’s workout was a 4.5 mile run and a 20 minute cool-down on the bike. I also threw in a few downward dogs, just for fun and hopefully to prevent tight hamstrings!
Y: Yesterday’s highlight? Hm. I guess the Orchard Salad I had for lunch.

    • I’ve been having massive cravings for dried fruit lately, too!! Thanks for sharing. πŸ™‚

  6. I love that quote, β€œIt takes courage to grow up and become who you really are,” from E. E. Cummings. I feel like it applies to my life as well. But the problem is always action and motivation. Perhaps repeating it as a mantra can make it more effective for me.

    • You are very right – there is a difference between reading the quote and taking action, and the latter is one of the hardest things we can do! But I think repeating it as a mantra can definitely help.

  7. I can’t fall asleep unless I’m on my left side too! LOL!

M: recently it was REI for a GPS unit for work…otherwise, Beach Body for Insanity!
N: I need more time and energy. They need to go together too. πŸ™‚
S: A pb sandwich. So much staying power! Or a smoothie!
